Go Lithuania!

Lithuanian Railways (LZHD) will dismiss about 2 thousand people due to sanctions against Russia and Belarus.
According to Delfi, this is due to the loss of millions of tons of transit cargo.
Currently, 9.2 thousand Lithuanians work in the LZHD. It turns out that more than one in five of them will be fired.

A small price for freedom. In fact, a very tiny infinitesimal price for freedom.⁣

All of Eastern Europe remembers fifty years of slavery in the Soviet Union. Some Eastern⁢ European nations recall hundreds of years of Russian occupation before that. And Russia has not︀ changed.

Your comments are ludicrous. But I do like the GIF of your daily flagellation︁ in propitiation for your warped thinking.

German energy giant Uniper gives in to Russian rouble demand

One of Germany's biggest energy firms has said it is preparing to buy Russian gas using‌ a payment system that critics say will undermine EU sanctions.

Uniper says it will pay‍ in euros which will be converted into roubles, meeting a Kremlin demand for all transactions to be made in the Russian currency.

Other European energy firms are reportedly preparing to⁤ do the same amid concerns about supply cuts.
Uniper said it had no choice but⁣ said it was still abiding by EU sanctions.

"We consider a payment conversion compliant with⁢ sanctions law and the Russian decree to be possible," a spokesman told the BBC.

"For our company and for Germany as a whole, it is not possible to do without︀ Russian gas in the short term; this would have dramatic consequences for our economy."

Germany's biggest energy supplier RWE declined to comment on how it would pay for Russian gas.︁

They will get good compensation by the way.

Also, tell this to thousands of‍ raped women, children, and also men.

I have a feeling they⁤ (Germany) are now preparing for the other gas sources and just can't risk turning it⁣ off now immediately. Time will show, right?

Nope, you absolutely missed my point,‍ buddy.

The fellow above told this right - it's a small price Lithuanians have to pay. Be sure people are not stressed about that 😉 It's not that bad in Lithuania⁤ like now in Russia. They can easily find other jobs (available positions are ALWAYS open).⁣ Lithuanians don't have ridiculous prices in retail stores, etc. So no panic at all as⁢ you might think 😉

Oooo It is so sweet to see the world caring so much for Ukraine!

McDonald's losses due to the termination of work in Russia and Ukraine amounted to $127 million.

This is 2.5 times more than expected.

According to the company's report for the first quarter of 2022, $27 million was spent on rent payments, salaries for employees of temporarily closed outlets, as well as payments to suppliers.

In addition, McDonald's has written off $100 million worth of food stocks, which are likely to deteriorate. At the same time, the company noted that this expense item may increase further.

In total, according to the report, according to the results of the first quarter, the profit of the American fast food chain fell by 28% compared to the beginning of last year.

Interesting articles. We are heading for potentially two‌ parallel financial systems. One dollar based and the other national currency based. One in the‍ west and one in the east. China must be watching all this closely especially the US asset confiscation actions. Won't be fun if China has $1trn in treasuries seized and⁤ Chinese billionaires and companies have their assets seized and all because maybe China made a⁣ move to re-unify Taiwan.

I hope things get dialed down in this conflict and mutual⁢ ground can be found. This conflict has opened up a much wider debate that has︀ been festering in the background over use of sanctions. Sanctions will not work in this︁ conflict. They have never fully worked against Cuba, Iran, North Korea or even Syria etc︂ so what makes them think it will work against Russia.

I would hate to see︃ the world split in two with nations having to pick sides over this current conflict.︄ A world with two spheres of influence and the middle ground nations playing both sides︅ is not good. Once the geopolitical horse trading is done over this conflict like we︆ are seeing being practiced by some countries the ultimately losers in this conflict will be︇ the average person due to inflation and instability.

Abramovich is reportedly seeking a cash infusion to aid victims of the military conflict in‌ Ukraine

Chelsea's outgoing owner Roman Abramovich has called upon the three remaining bidders hoping to‍ secure a deal to buy the Premier League giants to contribute £500 million ($630 million) towards a fund designed to help victims of the military conflict in Ukraine if they⁤ want their bid to be successful, according to reports.

Never worked? Those⁣ countries are all economic basket cases. They would all have burgeoning economies if they were⁢ free, capitalist countries that did not enslave their people. It is communism that does not︀ work. Just compare the economies of South Korea and North Korea. The megalomaniacs who run︁ those nations prefer power over the health, wealth, and welfare of their people.

To the︂ degree that the nuts in charge are still in power, I suppose that one could︃ argue that sanctions do not work in that respect. But sanctions certainly keep the world︄ much safer from their mindless aggression. There is no doubt that Iran would have its︅ own nuclear missiles and Cuba would have Russian nuclear missiles if not for sanctions.

Yes never worked like I said. Sanctions do not work in their objective. Sanctions only‍ affect ordinary people it does not change the system or government at all in any of those states. In fact it has had the opposite affect. It has meant countries⁤ like Iran and North Korea have advanced their weapons programs and nuclear technology and become⁣ more self sufficient and advanced in violating sanctions. Ask yourself why those countries have not⁢ collapsed with sanctions being on them for decades....lol.

P.S Lets not get off topic now︀ and keep thread on topic.
