Hi folks,

Does anyone have any experience how to open the US bank account with a Power of Attorney.
I'm not in the State and I was thinking to hire an agent, s/he will visit the bank and fill out the application for my company. Does it work like that?

as far as i am concerned you have to be phisically there (in US)
stripe got the ATLAS solution, they say they open a merchant account for you without the necessity of you being present there. google it.

but that is a very good question.

anyone here with advices ?

There's no law saying that you must be physically there. Many banks will require so, especially in the retail end of the market, due to the complexities and additional costs for doing it over distance. However, if you have the funds you can open a private banking account in the US while hiding in a hut in Siberia. A PoA won't even be needed - just mail in your certified documents to your account manager.

Regardless how you turn this, without personal visit and without to have made your homework carefully I don't believe any non-us person get a personal bank account, we have still not seen any evidence here that it is possible.

For large corporations it is well possible to get a US bank account through their local bank, I know that.

I know someone who got a bank account opened through a lawyer, without being present in the US. So it's definitely possible. I don't even think it was very expensive.

HSBC was letting you open foreign account through a personal visit to their local branch for a fee.
For business account, you just need your POA to be willing to be listed on the account as a representative of the business.

Can you find the contact info of the lawyer? I'm a u.s. citizen and trying to open a u.s. checking account from Europe, online and I got denied from every bank. Thanks

That's weird, don't most US banks offer online bank account openings if you have a SSN?

for a SSN you are required to either have a work visa [to be able to get a ssn] be a resident, or us citizen there are also other ways tho.

now if you open an account 8 out of 10 times it will be closed in the first week and you will be asked to visit the closest branch to the address you have used.

That was exactly what I had a feeling would happen. I don't even think that it will be possible for the average joe to open an account in the USA!

Its easy while you are in person in the US, it might be easy if by online ones you mean revolut transferwise payonner etc.

now traditional ones will do what I just told you there is only 1 exception but they will require you a minimal $$$$$$ amount for the account opening even tho is not a traditional bank they do have all the options and perks like one and they do have branch locations

No, it's very easy to open a US bank account for personal use, at least with a European passport.

How are you doing that without to travel to the USA?

I thought you meant in general.
As mentioned, you can get an account opened by power of attorney - at least that's what I've been told by someone who has done it. But he doesn't have any shady business or anything to hide, of course.

Yes is possible to do, I opened a bank of america account with people recommended by a friend and so far everything is working. It costed me $2500 and I paid them in cryptos (which it was a big red flag to me but since a friend already got the account I paid it)

The only thing I don't like is that it says another address and not mine but I guess it'show it works.

Any hint on how to do this, step by step guide including some contact details?

It is too easy, and seen a million times on this forum alone, YES it is possible.

So how the f**k are you doing it, bring it on gre¤#!

ibsc.llc, those were the ones I used. They are really new and if I'm not wrong they are not the ones who directly talk to the bank but I'm not sure since I only talked with them. To be honest if it wasn't because a friend got his bank account I wouldn't have trusted them

BTW I'm not recommending them, I have less than a month with my bank account so is not my fault if someone gets scammed

@exprtadvisrdev , after the post, now this is mid April. Is the account still fine? The site is English by the way, the ibsc. Did you get in touch directly with them?

Regards,

why the people not living in US want to open account in "real bank"? EMI isn't enough?
