Do you know any US EMI which opens personal account for non residents? Mercury does it but for business. You meant Wise and Payoneer?

If you have US LLC, i know with in person visit during your visit in US, you can open bank account from branches. But i'm just asking without in person, opening current account from a bank for non residents is possible or not technically. There's not much info about it.

And a bank always brings deposit insurance which i don't see in EMIs.

They both do!

You mean you want to open a personal bank account in the USA without visiting the bank, is that what you seek more information about?

Anything changed on this front? I live in Chile, not a US citizen, and have an American friend who travels to US soon. I am thinking on just giving him POA so he can open a bank account for me.
EMI don't work for me well, since I need a plastic card for cash withdrawal.

Also, would it be a problem receiving contractor salary from an American company to this bank account?
