Mailjet suspended our account, no mails are send from OCT right now.

Without any warning Mailjet.com suspended our account, they don't give any reason not do they want to help unsuspend the account.

It's like PayPal did last year, they leave their paying customers without a reason of suspending an account, what a messy company.

We are looking into an alternative to quickly replace them, if someone has any suggestion, please feel free to post here.

We apologize for the trouble, but it is our of our hands.

Unless you buy a dedicated IP address‍ mails will be sent from a shared pool IP address

but since it is not⁢ entirely out of this world to think this forum is not liked everywhere, I'd try︀ to make a few ready on hand and maybe not using a European company which︁ take a front row seat in virtue signalling.

For example mailgun is in Texas where︂ free speech means more than the empty shell it is in Europe..

Last year we had a really knowledgeable guy‍ from OCT to help us with hints about how to get rid of the DDOS⁠ attack we were under, he knew a lot and also told us that we had⁤ to avoid mail services that reveal our servers IP address when we send out emails⁣ (it was in the email header). That is what Mailjet does, they don't reveal our⁢ IP.

I have no clue about it, that why I ask.

Unfortunately I don't have︀ his emails any longer and never asked him what his username was here, so I︁ can't figure out who he was, but hope if he read this that he maybe︂ will contact us as well.

Yes, that's true if you send emails‍ from OCT servers but if you use any of those SMTP providers you'll be sending⁠ from their servers so that's not a problem.

Deliverability is a key factor in sending⁤ emails and not SMTP providers are non par.

Take a look at this comparison.

You could be spending a lot of money with an email provider thinking that they⁣ are good while the reality could be that half of your emails never reach the⁢ inbox.

I would suggest you to go either with activecampaign: they are veeeery good or︀ sendinblue / sendgrid.

I tried nearly them all and those are the ones with gave︁ me the best results.

Amazon could be good too but you'll have to ask them︂ to take you off the sandbox and explain what your business is about and they︃ didn't move me out from the sandbox for a whither business than yours.

If you have someone in your team with the knowledge how to set up a‌ secure mailserver, I would recommend to order a small VPS somewhere, setup a mailserver on‍ your own and use that one only for sending mails. You can configure the server⁠ to remove all header data (like the IP of the OCT server). Don't forget to⁤ block all unnecessary incoming ports on that mailserver. If someone tries to DOS you, he⁣ will only DOS the mail server.
However, this requires some knowledge of server administration.

I understand what you mean; and it can really be︀ an ultimate solution; but setup and maintaining the SMTP server today is really a hard︁ task, heavily depending on that where you are to send e-mails (as you very probably︂ know, especially “popular“ e-mail providers have a really crazy delivery policy)...
Really, if they are really qualified, so willing to accept︄ this challenge (I admit that do not consider myself uneducated at IT field but I︅ would not take this; it really needs a specialist), go for it . At least,︆ it would be perfect to have it ready as a backup.

BTW, on this occassion it might be interesting to check,︈ what e-mail providers are members using, discuss it with the competent persons and evt. either︉ tailor the solution or, perhaps, offer members some education (but I do not think that︊ people appearing at this forum are using Gmail 😉 )

You should separate services into their own server(s).. Hiding the IP address⁠ when sending mail actually is counterproductive since it will decrease the "trustworthiness score" of your⁤ domain(s) when sending mail from them.

I can try to help if you need but⁣ I'm not familiar with whatever system OCT is running on so any advice I can⁢ give is limited.
