How is Argentina (Burnos Aires) in 2025 for those getting salary in USD / EUR?

Inflation at 200+%, USD and EUR are skyrocketting, and generally high crime rates. Similar to Turkey, and its unliveable there.

Although still possible to get citizenship after 2-3 years right?

Agree you should consider it,‌ nice country, have been there a few times some years ago, felt pretty secure also‍ in the night.

I might be wrong here, but it’s too‌ underdeveloped for me

Also, I read that yes they give citizenship after 2-3 years, but‍ they revoke it if you leave Uruguay for too long

I have a buddy on the ground now who was⁤ there a few months prior.

He said it's crazy, all prices are 2x in a⁣ few short months. Must be tough for the locals.

My friends who lived there left after Milei became president. It's just not worth being‌ there now,it's very expensive, dangerous, and it's a pretty shitty place.

Are thee heading back with their foreign money? As that would be a different‍ game than living and earning as a local over there.

I know plenty of immigrants that head back home to distressed countries but they are not going back empty handed⁤ but with foreign money to live like kings during a economic crisis in that country.⁣

Where would you advise moving 2025? Tax⁣ free for worldwide income, or at least tax only the remited (in country) worldwide income?⁢ I am thinking very much of Malaysia, but I don't like that they state "tax︀ free on income that has been taxed somewhere else". So, if it's 0% taxed somewhere︁ else (actually not taxed) then has to be taxed in Malaysia. Any other alternatives, suggestions︂ as you're the expert! I'd prefer to avoid Latin America and Middle East. Somewhere cheap︃ with life... Thank you so much

This question has‍ been asked many times on forum. And my answer now is same as answer then. It depends on your situation and personal tastes. There is not a one size fit⁤ all relocation solution that works for everyone's lifestyle or situation. Search the forum for where⁣ people have asked a similar question.

I'm living in Argentina for a couple years now and it's not cheap anymore. I‌ have my money in EU and US and if u make a decent EU/US salary‍ it's still way cheaper than western countries. U can live a comfortable live at the moment if u live with 2 persons making 2500 a month in total. Then you⁤ are not talking about very expensive additional expenses but mostly basic stuff
The rent /⁣ gas / light is still way cheaper than in most western countries. Groceries not anymore⁢ and/or going out for lunch/dinner , but like the rest of the world, it all︀ depends where u go to and what u buy.
I live in the 2e largest︁ city ( Cordoba ) and the weather is very good over here. Summers can get︂ to hot. I never felt unsafe here but i also dont go into the suburbs︃ when it gets dark and i dont own/wear expensive jewelry so that also helps. Also︄ watch out walking with your phone in your hand everywhere taking pictures and video etc...it︅ is possible that they will ride alongside on a moped/scooter and steal it from your︆ hands. Be aware of your surroundings as you should be in most major cities around︇ the world. There is a lot of police on the streets here and special security︈ enforcers, so again it does not feel unsafe for me. Might be different in Buenos︉ Aires, its way bigger with 14 million people living in the metropolis compared to 1,3︊ million over here. Most crime in Buenos Aires is also in the suburbs and u︋ want to stay away from those. In the more smaller cities/towns it is safe and︌ i hardly see/hear anything on the tv or on internet about crime there.
I come︍ from a Western European country and the biggest problems I have are with the general︎ mentality here. It's also an interim position for me and next year I hope to️ move to Dubai
You feel like you're living in the 90s here. Everything is often‌ old and dilapidated. The bureaucracy can be irritating; everything is transferred across five offices, and‍ the systems are completely outdated.
In my opinion It's better to live here if you're retired and can/will live a slow down life.
The people are very nice and social.⁤

That sounds miserable. I still don’t understand why men of⁤ means live in these third world dumps. Is it really worth it to save a⁣ little money on taxes? Well, you can save that money just as well in Ireland,⁢ too.

I know that you can't even buy a car from another country there, it has‌ to be built in Argentina, same with foreign parcels, they just don't arrive.

Correct me‍ if I'm wrong and if anything changed.

In my opinion its more a 2th world country and not a 3th. Speicially⁤ in the big/bigger cities. There is electricity, running water and fast internet. Officially u even⁣ need to pay taxes over here and there is income tax ( also on income⁢ made outside of the country ) , there is also wealth/capital gain tax. For tax︀ purposes you don't have to do it but if u stay below the radar like︁ i do and make money online, there is no control what-so-ever lol. 65% of people︂ work off the books and dont pay income tax etc....
The reason i'm here is︃ because my girlfriend is from Argentina and to build up my own wealth/income living a︄ good but cheaper life. Gotta say i most likely will stay here for 1 more︅ year and then bounce to Dubai.
Overall its not that bad if u can adept︆ and like to live a more slow pace life. The weather is nice ( specially︇ more in the North/North-West if u like warm weather ) , the food , the︈ people and overall its pretty safe.

Why would move to Argentina I would say more like the opposite, move out and‌ find a better place.
