Flag theory: What is it and how does it protect mobile high-earners

I have been drawing, planning and think, researching‍ for months to find out how my own Flag Theory plan could look like. It's finally looking like something I can put into real.

This article put a massive smile on my face.

H.D. Schulz and W.G. Hill were‌ the ones in the early 90's that started my "offshore" journey both professionally and privately.‍ Back then it was a "Wild Wild West" industry run by cowboys. Around 2000-2005 the industry changed mostly for the better. Fortunately.

With the WFH/WFA concept starting to become rule⁤ instead of exception a whole new jungle of tax legislation has been proposed. Too many⁣ governments found out that WFA meant that residents weren't paying taxes like they used to⁢ do which led or is leading to tax patch work. Please don't take this flag︀ theory to literal anymore. Those days are (long) gone. You can use the theory as︁ an inspiration when deciding on what you need in your specific situation and as background︂ information of course.

Perhaps the recreational or playground flag brings you to some fresh ideas︃ as well as the playgrounds flag originally was very male orientated for instance. It led︄ to a full report called "sex havens" which at one point was considered as being︅ added as an extra flag on top of the 5 discussed here.

Thanks for this︆ article, it put me into a trip down memory lane. 🙂

Do you came it closer back then ?

Thank you for your feedback and little story.

Yeah, we are‌ limited number of people that have this privilegie to be able to work from anywhere‍ if just Internet is working.

You mean as‌ an digital nomad, that makes good sense to me. I consider it but the idea‍ to never have a real home stops me from going this way. I like to have a place that says my home.
