🇷🇺⚖️❌🇷🇺🕊 — The Supreme Court has removed the pacifist "Yabloko" (Apple) party from the State Duma elections.
➡️ On this August 10, 2026, the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation granted a lawsuit filed by the Russian nationalist "Rodina" party and barred "Yabloko" from participating in the elections.
➡️ The formal reasons for the ban included accusations perceived as absurd by the party supporters:
🕊 Violation of copyright on an image of a dove
🤖 The use of Chat GPT
☮️ The phrase "just no war"
💸 The receipt of 17,000 rubles from abroad.
➡️ "Yabloko" which has existed since the 1990s and has never enjoyed widespread popularity, entered these elections with a platform of halting military operations.
🇷🇺 This pacifist stance attracted the attention of non-systemic Russian opposition forces, who called on voters to support the party as the only alternative.
➡️ Due to this, the party started to be seen as a possible umbrella for 5th Columns by Russian nationalists
➡️ Immediately after the court's decision, hundreds of liberal Russians gathered in front of the Supreme Court building, chanting "Yabloko!" and "Shame!" as well as "We don't need Malaya Tokmachka!" - in response to months of Russian Ministry of Defense statements about the capture of this small Ukrainian village, which the Russian army has been unable to capture since 2022, regularly reporting its "repeated liberation."
➡️ Security forces, using loudspeakers, demanded that the crowd disperse, threatening:
"You have two or three minutes. If you don't disperse, don't be offended. No one will be taking you from the military recruitment office anymore, young people."
👊 One police officer also stated that if those gathered did not leave the streets, they "would end up in intensive care."
🔒 Later, riot police began detentions and checked the phones of those present for 'anti-Russian messages' and photographed the participants in the rally.
