Hi everyone, I am back after a long pause caused bny serious family issues, and happy to report that all had been resolved in a positive way.
A while ago, I had posted an article about "How to lose a control over your Wise business account if you were owner of the account. Question: How to lose ownership of the WISE business account in one easy step?
In a nutshell, if you, as an owner of a Wise business account, appoint another person as an admin, that person can remove you from the said account without you knowing it. In my case, it was all part of the plan, but at least I would have expected a notification and request for permission from Wise. Nothing.
Now we are doing the same with ZEN and AirWallex, i.e. I am removing myself from the position of the account owner and am transferring it to the company owner.
AirWallex is still a work in progress, and once done I will report it.
ZEN has been successfully done, but not without the hitches.
ZEN requires that the person who wants to remove him/herself from the account, opens up a special ticket for that purpose. Fair enough, as I assume it is not an everyday occurrence.
However, due to the disastrous ergonomics of the ZEN website it took 55 minutes (yes this is 55). to actually open a ticket to that effect.
Once opened, we got an answer within 24 hours saying that I cannot remove myself as there is no other owner of the company. This is BS as when I was setting up the account I had uploaded the info re: beneficial owners. I was a manager empowered to act on behalf of the company, but not the owner. All the relevant documents had been uploaded to ZEN when I was opening the account (2024), and there was no change since.
After my response telling them politely that they do not know what they talking about, they had suddenly
discovered that yes indeed I had been right and then I was removed from the account.
So - yes it took a lot longer that it ought to have, but I had been involved from Day 1 and whatever issues arose, ZEN was able to make it happen. So inefficient? Yes. Incompetent? Partially yes. But in the end we got what we wanted, which is what counts.
Cheers - and any questions or comments please let me know.
