Maybe we should start something to provide detail and information about the worst offshore bank that you can name.

For me it was Baltikums bank.. no respnse to my questions only standard answers.

Well had some very bad experience with Hellenic Bank Cyprus bank when they still exists.

OP what is your worst experience with an offshore bank? I have been lucky enough not to walk into a bad bank yet!

In Singapore, a few banks recently asked a lot of their offshore corporate clients to close some of their accounts. At least 2 banks that I know, these are big international banks. Does anyone like to guess?

For me, I am a corporate consultant. Dealing with a lot of these listed companies, major shareholders and so on. I am also someone who look for offshore financing. Something that provides out of the conventional financing. Something like structure finance. If you have anything in mind or deals that we can work on, bring it on. Not limited to listed companies, even good assets and how to monetize it, I can give my opinion on how to do it. Dealing with those IPOs, RTOs and asset injection. Ultimately, it is how to maximise the upside. That is why I work closely with my offshore corporate service provider.

Auric, which country you are located? You seem quite knowledgeable as well.

There are 2 international banks, the first starts with "H" and the second starts with "A".

For a consultancy you are bullshitting pretty much sorry to say so. Why can't you mention the bank's name?

I can mention the first one in place of him. The one starting with H is HSBC.
https://www.hsbc.com.sg/

It's customer satisfaction rating is as low as 1.2 stars out of 5:

The internet has lots of stories of people finding their corporate accounts closed without a provided reason, not just in Singapore but also in Hong Kong.

I personally would avoid this bank if possible. From what I've heard, some people still end up with this bank because some claim they still open accounts for non-residents.

ahh, thank you very much @Flycatcher this was of great help! I assume there are banks in Hong Kong that are similar to HSBC which is a no go and there are banks which are actually customer friendly and can be recommend by some?

@khan The key to ultimate service in Hong Kong is to bring in lots of cash. Many banks there won't consider an account for you unless you have millions or HK residency, especially true for local banks. Those that do open accounts for less money tend to be those which are more bureaucratic.

I don't currently have enough experience to recommend any, but surprisingly many banks have been at least open to me when I've expressed my desire to open an account with them.

Thank you, so it may be similar to the Swiss bank's you think? I don't want to bring millions to this country which is suffering on their national economy.
