Hello,

1) is it possible to create a Wise (personal) account as a Cyprus resident?

2) is it possible to craete a Wise business account for a US LLC as a Cyprus resident?

Thank you.

Last I heard: yes and yes.

Local Cyprus companies are still on hold, but personal‌ accounts and companies incorporated elsewhere with Cypriot resident owners are accepted.

There are many EMI's accepting Cyprus companies, start with them and once wise comes with‌ the opportunity for Cyprus corporate accounts holders you may switch.

Cyprus is in the EU, there are many EMIs accepting EU and EEA companies:

Zen, Ecommbanx (based in Cyprus) Currenxie, Interpolitan (Not US, not blacklist), Vivid (EEA), MisterTango (Not US,‌ not blacklist), Verifo, Airwallex, Narvi, Intergiro (EEA), Juni (EEA+UK+Gib), Nebeus (Crypto friendly, Not US, not‍ UK, not NL, blacklist), Genome (EEA+UK+Australia+CH+SG+HK+NZ+IL), World First, Vialet (EU), ISX Financial (based in Cyprus, open to: EEA, UK), Swissquote (Not: USA, Canada, UK, Germany, Italy, France, Russia, Japan and⁤ Turkey), Wamo (EEA+UK), Amnis, Payset, Ebury, Yoursafe, Pingpong, Satchel

There are many EMIs...
What criteria should be followed when choosing an EMI over another?

-For business accounts, businesses registered in which countries do they‍ support, and what restrictions are there on where the business owner(s) must be residents?
-For personal accounts, where can the person opening the account be a citizen/resident?
-What do people say about the EMI on this forum?
-Is it clear who the founding team is,⁤ who are these people, what's their background? Like you dont want them to be serial⁣ fraudsters.
-In which jurisdiction(s) do they have an EMI license? Can this information be easily⁢ found?
-Fees?
-Supported currencies? Which currencies/countries do you get proper IBANs for?
-Crypto friendliness?
-Since when does the EMI exist?

Thank you for the list of criteria!

It seems that︀ an EMI is an interface to banks and crypto exchanges.

I went through the help︁ pages of the crypto-friendly EMIs Zen.com and Payset and read sentences like "placing client︂ funds in a ring-fenced account with an authorised credit institution"; in regards of crypto︃ I read that "Digital Currency Top-up service is provided by an external provider".

In both cases no mention on which banks and crypto exchanges are involved... your list︄ will be useful 🙂

You guys are going off topic, please get back. You are welcome to open a‌ new thread discussing the things you find interesting.

most often if a local bank don't accept crypto business you‍ use an EMI like the mentioned to act bridge between the crypto and the bank.
