Why do companies need Crypto license?

Seychelles didn't have crypto license before and many companies registered their crypto business there.

The logic seems to be, it's easier to do crypto business in a jurisdiction without license? Just move to a jurisdiction without license.

I'd appreciate if anyone can enlighten me on this further.

Several reasons but mainly because licensing is a good revenue source for governments and licensing‌ is increasingly an international regulatory expectation.

But I guess it won’t be long before there are hardly any countries or "safe‌ havens" left where you don’t need a license, exactly because it’s an easy extra income‍ for small states! Do you know how much a license costs in Seychelles and how⁠ hard it is to get one?
