Scary stuff. I see why super rich people move to Monaco or Dubai. No point‌ having nice things if you can't wear or use them all the time.

Pretty much true. Both are open air prisons‍ and surveillance states.

I don't think rich care too much⁤ about losing an affordable item like that. It's the sometimes mindless violence and trauma that⁣ comes with having a gun put to your head or a knife to your throat⁢ in your home or on the street that some want to avoid.

These things can happen everywhere. There was a murder by handgun on Bequia recently, there are Haitians that sometimes do bad things on the family islands, pirates in the sea etc.

Those were all robberies. Where's the︌ gypsy taking a dump in another man's mouth? In Sweden, it's common for gangs to︍ piss on random victims, film and then spread the clip, but dumping? That's something new.︎

Ofcourse you have to be compliant with all the rules, but still its bothersome︁ to be stopped just because you have a good car everytime not because you have︂ actually committed any crime.

yes, food and culture is best in︄ the world but the rest I dont think so. But to each their own.

ok I dont know when you were in marbella but there have been shootings,︍ robberies and break ins at a considerable level, it was once called the break in︎ capital of europe. But, the place is beautiful to say the least. Other than monaco️ and switzerland I domnt think its a good idea to own expensive things, its just‌ calling for trouble unless you have private security then you are sorted.

Thats true, whats the point of having money when you cannot enjoy it.

I dont agree, closest thing to a prison is︀ the USA, I have lived in Dubai and can tell you that you will hardly︁ see the police, yes they do have cameras everywhere but hey if you think governments︂ in europe are not surveiling you then you are highly mistaken.

yes I agree, if I wouldnt have kids I︆ would be in dubai now but I choose to not raise my kids there. I︇ would prefer to raise them in a third world country where they learn to fight︈ and see what poverty is.

Goodbye UK as a tax haven for non UK citizens 🙁 Why, why, why??!!

gosh it sounds more like stories one reads from south africa...
but it doesn't surprise me seing the amount of unregistred migrants have come to europe. they start organised crime and steal big time while receiving monetary hand outs. And they never get punished!! life is good for the petty thieves!

Italy is great to visit (as a tourist) and even to spend couple of months‌ there but I guess living there is something else.
Italians don't like foreigners (non-italians) and‍ also if you show a nice car or watch you'll easily become victim of robbery.
And since you're non-italian - police won't care.

Can you please share the thread I wasn't able to find it?
Greece is probably⁢ safer than Italy (but the stats I found here says opposite)

It is not. And‌ it's inferior in every aspect comparing with Italy, unless you are rich enough to have‍ a personal island.

Also easy to form corporations, access to banking, plus not︃ being tied to the EU. I hope they can present themselves as the Singapore of︄ Europe in the future.

If you look at a tier list of all cities, only︅ NYC and London are ranked as A++ cities overall.

The services available in London alone︆ are insane.

They tried. Lasted 40 days, almost tanked the pension funds and‍ the pound. You can not build a democratic Singapore, there are too many socialists and open communists in the UK and soon they will have a majority in the parliament.⁤ So trust my word, in 1-2 years there will be general election, Labour will win⁣ and they will abolish non-dom, raise taxes for corporations and "rich" people alike, print money⁢ to cover the holes in the budget and run the country to the ground. In︀ 5-10 years they will again lose to Conservatives and the cycle continued.

BREXIT is︀ a project of the conservatives, which will bring the country into blooming landscapes, as one︁ hears and sees. The rich are also currently fleeing England in droves. How many meters︂ are left to the abyss, thanks to the glorious conservatives? How many prime ministers have︃ they worn out since Brexit?

You need to understand how the UK politics works. Both parties have a core audience - around 20% each. It's elderly and more well off people⁤ for conservatives and poor, urban and younger people for labour. NONE of those people actually⁣ supported Brexit.

And there is a huge swinging audience that is the aim for both⁢ parties, often rural, working class, white British "rednecks". And for them Brexit was a clear︀ scapegoat solution that led Cameron to victory. Even now Labour don't dare to touch Brexit︁ for that reason - it's the swinging "moderate" working class that supported Brexit and they︂ are the kingmaker.

Non-doms: Why Labour squeeze‌ on wealthy elite could backfire

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-politics-64318959
--- quote start

If Labour wins the next general‍ election, the party has pledged to scrap this "tax loophole" to raise an estimated £3.2bn a year.

Dubai, Greece and Portugal. These are some of the countries that members of⁤ an economic elite have recently moved to instead of the UK.

--- quote end

Only UK non-dom's with kids in school may stay. The rest will vanish from UK. Not⁣ even King Charles paid UK inheritance tax but everyone else is expected to.

Whoever thinks⁢ a country like UK, that in 2022 had 3 Prime Ministers and 4 Chancellors, is︀ stable and a desirable place to live right now needs a psychiatrist. Who wants to︁ move to a demising high tax country where standard of living is falling, crime rising︂, bad weather, people getting poorer, negative predicted GDP growth and politically in a corrupt︃ conservative mess.

They better not get rid of non-dom scheme as that's all it has︄ going to attract rich foreigners.....lol.

UK wont be so attractive for long. Permanently declining productivity,︃ massive trade balance deficit, some of the largest pockets of povery in all western world,︄ just self suicided by exiting the largest single market in the world. They will have︅ to raise taxes as there is very little meat left to cut, with both school︆ and health systems in total shambles. NHS is already the worst public health system in︇ all western Europe by al metrics. Even Portugal beats it. Of you are planning long︈ term based on UK taxation staying the same, you are deluding yourself
