Twitter the new Google?

Sorry I haven't been a big fan of twitter and only a few times been there, now I found that Twitter has made a Google look a like search engine Twitter Search for searches performed only on twitter, the look and feel of the Twitter search is exactly same as Google....


Now I'm asking, will this be the next generation of search engines and do they competing with Google?

Twitter had this search engine from the very beginning, I'm not sure if they will‌ want to compete with Google or if they just took the look and feel from‍ Google for user friendly meanings....

They cannot be compared to Google simply because they are just a social site while‌ Google is a search engine. All social sites have a search box inside their site‍ to help customers and also to make money from their searches.
