You forgot that most of the western countries have a social support network for unemployed people,︃ or even stuff like burgergeld, so a recession won't matter, as long as the country︄ prints enough fiat for handouts to the unemployed. That's why there are so many 'refugees'︅ from Africa and Middle East, getting stuff for free instead of going through the trouble︆ of getting a job.
I don't think any of those 'refugees' will change their mind︇ during a recession, as long as they can get free money from their 'host countries'.︈ Nor will Ukrainians return to their bleak country - with already more than 3 years︉ passing since the Russian special operation began, many Ukrainians have started a new life abroad,︊ some found a permanent home, learned the language, found friends, husbands, boyfriends, girlfriends and jobs︋ as well. Others live in places where you don't need to work to survive, as︌ the government steals enough money from its taxpayers to hand out to anyone that comes︍ to get it.
