You don’t need missiles when you control the currency
But you don’t need fiat when you have Bitcoin
We’ve all seen the memes: country finds oil, US shows up with democracy, jets, and freedom bombs.
But here’s the part they don’t tell you: the US doesn’t want oil. They want oil to be bought in dollars. That’s the real game.
It’s called the petrodollar system. If your country wants oil, and every country does, you need dollars. Doesn’t matter if you’re Japan, India, Italy or Madagascar. You convert your local toilet paper into greenbacks. You play by their rules.
And what happens when oil exporters get paid in dollars?
They don’t just sit on them. They reinvest in U.S. Treasury bonds, American markets, Wall Street. So the dollars go out for oil, then flow back in to fund the U.S. military, debt, and empire. A self-sustaining, closed loop of global tribute.
This wasn’t an accident. It was a backroom deal.
1974, Kissinger + Saudi Arabia
You price oil in USD → we give you weapons + protection. It worked. Kuwait, UAE, Iran (before 1979) followed suit.
And the world bent the knee.
That’s how:
- 90% of global FX is in dollars
- Over 50% of all reserves are in dollars
- And U.S. banks sit at the centre of nearly all oil payments
This system is powerfully fragile. Because if you control energy pricing via a currency, your power can vanish if:
- Countries start trading oil in something else
- Or worse, countries start trading without any central currency at all
Unlike the yuan or the ruble, Bitcoin doesn’t ask for permission.
It doesn’t rely on BRICS, SWIFT, OPEC, or Kissinger 2.0.
It’s stateless, borderless, permissionless and final.
If an oil producer accepts Bitcoin, the loop breaks.
No dollar demand.
No reinvestment in U.S. debt.
No chokehold through sanctions.
Just value for value, settled on-chain.
That’s the real threat. Not de-dollarization through China, but disintermediation through code.
A parallel system that doesn’t need petrodollars, central banks, or warships to function.
The petrodollar made Uncle Sam untouchable for 50 years.
Bitcoin makes him irrelevant.
