The Dark Side of Denmark’s Tax System: How Authorities Can Ruin Your Life Without Consequences

I’m really happy for you that you managed to stand up to a system like‌ that, congratulations on the result and the case win! I hadn’t heard about it until‍ now.

Incredible that you managed to push through all of that, seriously, respect.
Most people would have folded long before reaching this point, but you clearly listened to yourself︇ and trusted your own judgment when it mattered most.

That takes a level of mental︈ strength most never reach

If you don’t mind me asking: how on earth did you︉ manage to turn it around?
With the system working against you at every step, I’m︊ honestly curious how you navigated it and stayed focused.

Your story is a reminder that︋ no matter how dark things get, giving up is never the answer.

Thanks for sharing︌ it.

Appreciate that, it definitely wasn't easy, and there were moments where I felt completely buried.‌
What made the biggest difference was having a few really solid tax advisors around me‍ who actually knew how to handle complex cross border issues. Not the usual surface level stuff, but people who weren’t afraid to push back or think creatively within the legal⁤ framework.

On top of that, I was lucky enough to have a legal insurance policy⁣ in place that ended up covering a big part of the fight. Without that, I⁢ honestly don’t know if I’d have had the financial stamina to keep going.

It was︀ still a mental battle, no doubt about it, but when you know you’re in the︁ right, and you have the right support, you just keep moving forward. Giving up wasn’t︂ an option.

wait you had an insurance that covered yor lawyer costs? how do you get that?

congrats for emerging successful from this complex situation.︃

in terms of insurance, did you have a local or international one? is not so︄ easy to cover also tax-legal area

Only a small part of it was covered, I had‍ to cover most of the expenses myself.

Sure, they’re tax deductible as business expenses, but still, it requires having a decent amount of capital to begin with.

Really clever smart a*s post from a first-class criminal. Glad you're banned, and hopefully you never come back.
This is honestly such a fantastic read,︊ and I’m so glad you didn’t listen to some of the incredibly dumb comments in︋ this thread.

It really does pay off to stand your ground and fight for what’s︌ right, you must’ve been seriously wronged, and the tax authorities must’ve gone way over the︍ line with their accusations.

Truly refreshing to read a win story like this here on︎ OCT.

I don't get it...︀

If my assets are outside of denmark and they say ohh you need to pay︁ a fine of X amount, ok I wont pay and leave the country what are︂ they going to do? Block my account with no money in it?

Or what will︃ they go to Nevis and the Cook Islands to sue me and the trust, so︄ the authorities can tell them to f**k off.

Now, if in the country I get︅ it, but this is why you never keep much money in banks where you live.︆

The moral of this thread is: never give up if you believe you're right, no‌ matter what others say. Keep fighting for what’s yours, whatever it takes, and by any‍ means necessary.

In your 'winner post' you mentioned that all your expenses were covered and that you were⁣ insured, but here you're saying only a small part was covered? Just trying to understand⁢ the difference.

Sorry for the confusion, it happens easily. What I meant is that I had to cover almost all the expenses upfront myself.⁤ There was still a large amount that would’ve had to be paid in advance if⁣ I didn’t have insurance. In the end, when we won the case, all of the⁢ costs were reimbursed.

That’s a completely︆ different story and has nothing to do with my case if you read the full︇ thread.

The fact is, the Danish tax authorities make things up and twist the facts︈ until they fit a narrative where they can slam you with a massive tax bill︉ and accuse you of everything from money laundering to criminal activity, all without any real︊ evidence.

And even if you provide counter evidence and proper documentation, they just ignore it!︋

Why is that possible? Because you can’t sue the individual caseworker – who often isn’t︌ even qualified and in Denmark may even be a recent asylum seeker hired by the︍ tax office. Instead, you have to go against the agency itself, while the caseworker just︎ leans back, moves on to the next victim, and couldn’t care less that they just️ destroyed someone’s life.

No i get that that was exactly my point︇ they say you did something wrong even if you did not and lets assume you︈ did not win.

If your funds were not in Denmark you just leave and tell︉ them to f**k off what they are going to do?

They can't ruin your life︊ you can just leave smiling on your way to the bank.

My point is you︋ don't need to be subject to idiots if you play it smart.

Just so we︌ are clear I'm very happy you won i was using the above as a hypothetical︍ scenario to make a point.

they were in‍ Denmark, all of them, I would have been broke now.

The clowns would have been the winners.

Exactly this is why i‍ said in one of my posts you don't keep your money where you live.

They can't take what they can't access....

What i learned a long time ago laws don't mater only enforcement maters

I can say you owe me a billion euro and who⁤ knows what else and a Court can confirm that who cares if they can't enforce⁣ it.

Glad it worked out for you my advice is move all you have somewhere⁢ else and if any property etc... Sell it buy somewhere else or invest in whatever︀ that you like and rent.

And keep like 5-10k in you danish accounts and then︁ you can just laugh in their face if they try to pull any s**t in︂ the future.

If you're looking to discuss solutions and theories, maybe consider starting a new thread where‌ people can chime in. This one is about real time experience, not some made up‍ magic story.

This is not hypothetical i have a set up like this

I have a Nevis IBC and a Nevis trust with a couple⁤ of offshore banks.

I also have a few personal accounts offshore. (Don't keep a lot⁣ of money on those ether)

Where i live i rent and on my account where⁢ i live i have 6238 Euro.

I use this account only for expenses and i︀ top it up as needed etc...

Most of my funds are in my company name︁

I follow all the laws etc... But if they wake up one day and say︂ you did something wrong when i did not they can go f**k themselves.

They can︃ have my 6238 they are more than welcomed to do so.

For the rest they︄ can go and sue me in Nevis good luck with that. With a standard of︅ guilt of beyond a reasonable doubt.

My point is i was trying to help and︆ i was not talking about magical stories this is something i have and set up︇ and working not something made up.

I sleep like a baby knowing the can't ruin︈ my life and take everything i own.

That’s all very impressive, but let’s be real, you’re kinda wrecking my thread here.

This one’s about my story and battle with the Danish tax authorities, not about what you’ve‌ done, can do, or feel like doing.

You're more than welcome to start your own‍ thread and share your journey there, just don’t hijack mine, or I’ll have to ask for a cleanup.

Sure sorry about that will stop posting⁣ in your tread sorry if i offended you.

Man, I gotta say, this thread, especially your update, really made my day. It’s honestly‌ uplifting to read about someone actually beating the tax man and the system with nothing‍ but legal moves, some cash, and a little bit of luck, I’m guessing.

Hope we see more of that thu&¤#
