Starting a cayman hedge fund

Hi,

We are looking to start a crypto hedge fund in the cayman islands. We are a group of 3 people, 2 of us are US citizens. We will be raising capital from outside investors.

Is LLC, C-corp, S-corp better for tax purposes? We would like the ability to retain profits in the company if we choose to. We would also like to have access to a bank account. Are there any services that would help us with this? We know that sometimes it can be difficult to get a bank account due to the nature of crypto businesses.

Hello,
better to avoid crypto in your company name or company purpose. When you form a Hedge Fund you can do all types of business / investments. Start as a 'normal' investment company and when everything is in place incl Bank account you can add the crypto part to it. With the LLC structure you have the flexibility to keep profits in the company.
