As far as my understanding goes second world war ended when the︂ US bombed Japan and Japan surrendered.

The other part of second world war coming to︃ an end was when D day happened and it was a combined effort from the︄ Allies and the Nazis surrendered with the suicide of the Fuhrer.( A large part was︅ played by Alan Turing as well in decoding n**i messages i would say).
