I've seen it said that a Transfer Wise Scandinavian country-based account doesn't (at the time of trying anyway) need a video ID call? This would be perfect (I don't like video calls), but I have a few questions, can anyone help? ( @Admin I think you posted on this subject).

1) If I did have a Scandi country ID (say I lived there), would TW need to send the card to the Scandi address (or any docs at all? - I don't want other post going there AT ALL, as others have access to the flat at times), or could I just get them to ship it to an address in the EU or UK or Ireland, say?

2) Does TW require you to immediately add funds AND require a bank account in the same name as the CC you add funds from? (I read it does on here somewhere, on a thread). If it does, anyone recommend an EMI & virtual card combo that may work for this, or anything else like that?

Thanking you very much!

I appreciate your subscribtion to the mentor group and I understand that you have to learn. But it does not mean that you need to put everything you post at OffshoreCorpTalk.com to my attention by tagging me!

The only thing you get out of it is:

a) no one else want to reply to your threads, since most will think this is only for the Administrator of the forum
b) I get annoyed and will reply very late to take the head of the aegerness.

Now to you question:

1) They will not require any video verification, that's for sure, you can get them send anything to any Scandinavian address, that's for sure not a problem.
2) No not really.

You could try to open an account with TW and get some personal experience that way. It takes less then 5 minutes to open an account with TW and you will get instant answers to your questions which more or less belong to TW's support or personal experience rather then hunting me down all over OffshoreCorpTalk.com

Okay, it's just you told me to make a thread and tag you... Or is the problem that I tagged you twice here and asked in another thread if you'd seen it - Yes, now I think of it... that is a bit over the top of me!!!

Ooops! Sorry about that.

To explain my side (which doesn't excuse it, I was too full-on and I admit that, but just to explain what was going through my mind at the time).

When you said via PM to put my question in a thread and tag you, after renewing my Mentor Group membership, I did that.

But I didn't seem to get a reply. I also responded to your PM, but didn't get a reply, so I became concerned as I'd seen you'd mentioned Scandinavian countries for Transfer Wise before, so though you may have the answer. I didn't want to move forwards and make a mistake, I wanted to learn from someone that had done this already.

I then noticed that since renewing and tagging you as suggested, you'd been replying to other threads (but not my PM, or my post with tag, so I was confused). I SEE NOW... though, that you're likely just really busy with so many members to manage! Oooops, sorry!

I see now that actually, I was been TOO keen, too eager, and you are likely very busy, with LOTS of notifications etc to reply to! My Bad!!!

Thanks for your reply, appreciated.
  • Re: Your reply to my Q1) - Thanks for the info, appreciated. Though, I was more concerned about if they'd ship to an address in a different EU country, for a Scandi account?
  • Re: your reply to point 2 N"o not really..." I'd seen at least one thread where they said they did now get asked to make an initial deposit. I asked here as I felt Mentor group, and you as admin, are more experienced than me and may know already.
I'll stop asking questions like that now though, didn't mean to cause issues. I just wondered if you knew the answers as you'd seemingly opened Scandinavian accounts before.

I'll go ahead and try it and maybe reply to those other folks that had the issue re: needing an initial deposit, and let them know the experience I have etc. I realise you likely have much more important stuff to do and can't likely respond directly to everyone.

Dont know precisely for Scandinavian but for French and UK they dont require video calls.

Yes they will ask you to put some money on the account to deliver your personal IBAN or Corporate IBAN.
FYI if you send money for personal account they will validate it, but not the pro. If you send to the pro they will activate the pro not the personnal one.
You can use a virtual CC. No need to be on the name of owner but some few chances if the credit card is from taiwan and your account is for SCANDI they will ask the bank statement proving the debit of the card .

Prepaid card like PCS in france didnt work for me... Hope this will answer your questions.

Brilliant 🙂 Thanks for the answer! Exactly the sort of info I was looking for, will really help me to avoid any known pitfalls off the bat 😉

So with the personal & pro, is that like personal account vs business account do you mean? Sorry to come back with another question, but really appreciate your help - and happy to return the favour if I can in the future 🙂
