Plausable reason for a delay of filing taxes for a UK Ltd

For some reason 😉 I've delayed filling a tax returns for my UK Ltd for 2-3 months. It's my first file tx return and there're only a few transactions in total.

How could I explain them the delay? So that it should sound more or less believable, and at the same time not too far fetched.
 
You could possibly Change your year end date and run an extended year, think your allowed to do this approx every 3 years

I'm not talking about fighting, but giving them a reason of a delay. It won't hurt.
I'll do filling anyway
