AD Paraguay Residency - Guide

Paraguay residencies have blown up lately — and for good reason. But make sure it fits your strategy. Think it through or talk to someone who gets it (@JohnnyDoe ). Someone who sees the second-order effects, works across jurisdictions, and isn’t seeing a nail in everything, because his only tool is a hammer.

Why Paraguay?
✅ 0% tax on foreign income
✅ Tax resident even at 0 days of stay
✅ Low maintenance
✅ Not blacklisted
✅ Food & energy self-sufficient, stable, cheap — solid Plan B/C/D/E
✅ One of the most affordable in LatAm

DIY Route:
If you’ve got time, patience, and some Spanish, you can handle it yourself.
  • 1 week to do certificates in Paraguay
  • 2–3 months for residency approval (if the documents are correct)
  • 1 week to do new certificates
  • Usually, it takes one month to receive an ID after the application
  • 1 week RUC (tax ID)
  • 1 week driving license

— ~$700–800 in fees if you run around on your own
— Entire process ~4–5 months in Paraguay or 3–4 visits to the country within this timeframe.

Why us?

If you value your time:
we cut it to one visit, three business days. Residency, ID, tax ID, bank account, driving license - done. Record so far: little over 24hrs.

If you want to live here: we’re on the ground. We know who’s legit, who’s a scam, and where you’ll get fucked. Locals and even expats will see you as an ATM. I’ve seen it all: fake mining, shady real estate, hidden discounts, triple deposits.
Best coaches, sports clubs, gyms, gear, discounts, schools... or figure everything out on your own. It feels great to be ready at the court at 7 am, but your coach is sleeping at home.

If you’re looking to invest or do business here: we live here, we’re in the trenches daily, taking meetings, vetting deals. We can connect you with the right opportunities and help you avoid getting burned.

If your passport makes entry difficult: no problem, we handle the tricky cases too (at ~3–4 times the cost, but we get it done).

To be straight, there are 4-5 other agencies that can do it in one visit. Some cheaper, some pricier. They are marketing front of local fixers, so their ability to do it is based on bringing the volume. When they’re doing 40 clients a month, how much do you think they care about you?

We can now complete some critical parts of the process pre-arrival, which means that if a person arrives in the EARLY MORNING (by 8-9 am), they can leave the country with a successful residency process from 5 PM SAME DAY.
Just in time uh? 😆
Isn’t better to leave a safety buffer and ask clients to leave at noon next day?

Are you still offering this service? Website is down and you haven't been active in the forum for quite some time now.
Hello, yes. The residency process has changed a bit, so the website is not up to date right now. It seems the waters have settled with the news; I will write an update article.

Things seem to be settling down at Migraciones, so a few updates on Paraguay residency.

  • 12-month rule: Temporary residents cannot stay outside Paraguay for more than 12 consecutive months if they want to upgrade to permanent residency. Now strictly enforced. Permanent residents still only need to visit once every three years.
  • Economic activity: An active RUC, proper accounting and actual local income are now required. Zero declarations won't cut it anymore. I've been advising clients to maintain real activity for years, mainly because of banking. Now it's mandatory. We can handle the accounting.
  • Crypto reporting: Over $5,000 in annual crypto transactions triggers detailed yearly reporting, first due March 2027. Good luck reporting every DeFi transaction. Apart from being practically impossible, handing over detailed financial data creates obvious security risks. The fintech chamber is still challenging the resolution. Personally, I don't see how Paraguay can realistically enforce this, particularly with DeFi.
