Personal account, no experience with mail forwarding.‌ Both US accounts I opened in person gave me my (temp)card, checks etc. WF sends‍ your card even to an address outside the US. After opening and maybe your final card no mail address needed in the US. I gave them my EU address and⁤ that was it.

You need to go to the branch to open the account anyway. I had no‌ issues whatsoever, despite telling them I don’t live in the US.

I checked with Mercury : they can open accounts for US LLC's for non-residents BUT‌ there is a catch : you MUST have US based customers within 3-6 months or‍ the account will be closed.

Thanks for that tip. How do you define US based customers? Why don't you pretend to be your own US⁤ based customer if you don't have any?

US based customers : resident (individuals or companies) with US address, US bank account, US‌ taxpayers

Bofa closed my personal account last week, without any notice.
They do not want to‌ disclose why they made this decision.
As a result they also closed my business bank‍ account that I had there.

I was never overdraft, I was always above the minimal balance to avoid fees.

My account were linked to "Privacy.com" and to a "Curve" card⁤

I am not a US resident nor American National.

They send me the money I⁣ had in both account under the form of a cashier checks.

Please avoid Bank of⁢ America.

Also I am searching for another big bank to open an account next time︀ I'm there. I was think about Capital One or TD bank, could anyone recommend a︁ bank ?

TD Bank is known to open bank accounts for non-residents as well.
You should have‌ used the BofA account statements as proof of address - then other banks with stricter‍ requirements would probably have accepted you as a client as well. Maybe you can still do that if you have recent BofA account statements.

Was the account inactive maybe? I know some US banks like to close accounts when‌ they are not actively used (money going in/out).
