My personal favorite thread posted in the Mentor Group. Group of investment companies to avoid licensing.

Some may want to have a country specific suffix like AG or Gmbh (for Germany).

You can use GmbH and AG? Is it possible to use the term Germany within the business name too? I can't imagine the German or EU authorities thinking too highly of that 😀

Actually it is possible yes... I second your opinion I doubt many of the EU countries like that but on the other hand not many (compared to the majority) know about the Seychelles as an potential offshore jurisdiction to incorporate GMBH or AG in there company name to pretend to be something other than it is or to indicate what the company type is similar to...(as you like)..... 🙂

Good question by bionixlaunch. Can anyone comment on the validity of a suffix for a company?

Caribbean Offshore Agents Inc. - Offshore Specialists

It depends very much on which country you are doing business in, for instant, in Germany it may be helpful if the company's suffix could be AG or Gmbh while in the UK and most part of the world a Ltd is sufficient. It is a matter of recognizing the company form in regards to business relationships and not to scare them away even before you had a chance to show them your legit business.

Great list of suffix, it explains it all well.

Aside from easy identification, suffixes are also trademarks. In addition, they avoid the repetition of the names of companies. The world market can easily work on the companies if they are already familiar with it and suffixes make that easy.

hmmm, not sure if I agree that a suffix can be a trade mark! What I would say is that the company if registered in a country protects that name in the specific country from be taken from others.

I agree. The suffix has nothing to do with a trademark!

Pretty much covering all suffix one can imagine for their Seychelles company I think. No need for any additional to consider, even though I think most will go with Ltd or LLC.

For many clients located in Europe it has been a great advantage to make use of the AG and GMBH suffix.

I can imagine for Germans it's a good opportunity to camouflage their business entity 🙂
