Offshore bank account for merchant account does it work?

I Wonder if it is possible to accept credit card payments with a simple offshore account as we know them in Cyprus, St. Vincent, Switzerland and so on?

Some banks accept credit card payment clients?

No that is not going to happen. What you are looking for is an Acquiring bank that accept merchant applications for credit card processing but most often this is not a regular bank as you may know them!

I shall add that while some offshore banks advertise that they do have their own credit card processors, probably in all cases this option is reserved only for locals. This is at least the case in Antigua, and one bank never told me about the "local" requirement until I asked about it.

You need to get a separate merchant account. And do reserve time for this, there are loads of scams and the best ones are not even public on the internet.

I totally agree with that statement! It is very time consuming to find a good merchant account provider and payment gateway!
