Offshore accounts accepting money coming from China

I lived in China years ago and sold a property. Had the same issue. A friend took a lot of cash and wired from his business account to my account outside China. Some of the money I packed in a backpack and took a boat from Zhuhai to Hong Kong. HSBC accepted all the cash after asking "where did you get it". But I think those days are over.

ahah I think until a few years ago it was doable, but now they are way more strict from what I heard

@PinChoALTA as think as @Forester pointed out, it might be a hassle and hard to find clients for a such short amount of time, but I'm keeping the idea in case other ways do not work out!
