Metal plate where you engrave your seed phrase

How it works.

Smart, bust still the engraving (or better in this case, punching) process is a pain in the ass, especially on titanium.
A better idea is to buy a laser engraver from Amazon and use your own surface.

your seed backups should be easy to destroy - it's a feature not a bug - paper or any seemingly weak solution is actually the ideal one as the security of the solution is not achieved via durability

any seed backup is extremely dangerous if it represents the private key on it's own - you need multisig or shamir chunks and/or passphrase

these metal toys are fancy but hassle when it comes to engraving the seed and a nightmare when you need to get rid of it

But still durable enough. There are special kind of papers that are water and crease resistant. You can write on them with waterproof ink and you will be quite safe.

MS has too much influence 🙄

The real risks are theft and accidental loss.

And they really attract attention.

does MS stand for Microsoft or MicroStrategy here? 🙂
Michael Saylor, the Meme Salesman.
either way this expression is used in IT sector for at least 30 years, still kind of cool....
He is abusing of it. Go explain to STRC shareholders how cool the volatility feature is.

Out of curiosity, how does he keep all his btc safe?

it's (over)used by many tech-background guys but he is the most visible one recently

why am I pushed to advocate here? 😉
it's supposed to be less volatile than bitcoin in exchange for diminished yield... that's what it does... unless you choose to look at the worst period of time to prove otherwise - which is exactly what people tend to do to prove their point when it comes to all the assets

it was disclosed many times that they (allegedly) use number of corporate custodians (Coinbase was the only publicly mentioned as far as I remember) in a multisig scheme

some believe Strategy doesn't even own as much BTC as they declare - I'm not one of them
