I'm looking for an alternative, and I'm looking at https://medicibank.us/banking in Puerto Rico.

Does anyone have any experience with the bank?

I would stay far away from any PR bank. Many PR banks got their licence‌ revoked and OCIF is massively stepping up regulatory oversight. Better take a bank in Miami.‍

I have few alternatives, but I got one shutdown, so⁤ now I need one extra one

I opened a bank account with them back in 2024. They don't have their own‌ SWIFT ; money needs to be transferred through a third-party bank. Looks like another Puerto‍ Rico scam.

Seeing Medici used like this gives me the same vibes as when a‌ bank or financial service provider uses the word Swiss or Suisse without being from Switzerland.‍ Clearly just trying to use someone else's legacy.

Even the logo chosen by this bank⁠ is close (but legally distinct from) the Medici family arms. It looks like the bank⁤ might be fans of the Medici family and Italian football club emblems.

Interesting, if true. But the family⁠ lost all influence hundreds of years ago, so I'd still classify it as using someone⁤ else's legacy. Whatever made the family powerful and influential ended around the 17th century.

Picking Puerto Rico as the location of a "bank" while trying to invoke the legacy of⁣ a family that peaked in Europe around the 1300,1600s tells me everything I need to⁢ know about this bank and its founder.

But maybe I'm too dismissive.

I'm not saying you are wrong I'm⁢ just saying where the name comes from (If True) the issue is very few people︀ if any have experience and is difficult to get a true read.

Became my issue︁ is in my opinion even the worst bank on the planet is better than an︂ EMI but that's just me.
