I have heard that offshore companies are set up for privacy rather than tax. How true is this?

I have a startup. I work with companies. I don't want to pay taxes.
How much privacy is required in this case?
Could something happen in the future without privacy?

You really want to search the forum and read some of the threads already posted‌ and with similar questions to yours.

What you posted is to broad and the short‍ answer is, forget it, your can't avoid taxes now a days unless you have a large budget and are willing to relocate.

What could‌ happen without privacy? Not much, maybe just a totalitarian big brother state that controls everything.‍
Even if you're a grandma and you want to sell coffee and cupcakes and want to pay taxes, privacy is important.

I met with a very rich guy, in my local currency a billionaire, he owns︀ multiple offshore companies and the setup is such that he pays taxes comparable to local︁ companies + he pays fees for the company setup and maintenance + accounting etc. So︂ in the end it is more effort for him to have these companies than if︃ he went locally.

The reason? More privacy thanks to offshore and nominees and more stability︄ due to owning companies in a country where laws and regulations don't change every 6︅ months.
