Hi everyone,

I live in Dubai and I have a Mercury account (USD) and a Wio account (also USD).
I need to transfer some money from Mercury to Wio, but I read somewhere that this could lead to account closure at Mercury.

Has anyone done this before? Is it safe to send a transfer from Mercury to Wio?
Should I avoid doing this?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Is the Mercury account under a U.S. LLC that's owned by you personally (as a Dubai resident), or by a Dubai-based company?

And is the Wio account under your personal name (as the owner of the U.S. LLC), or under a Dubai company that owns the LLC?

These details can make a difference in how the transfer is viewed by Mercury.

You may ask Mercury first and tell them to which exact account number you are going to transfer the money to. As already asked here, who is the receiver? that may be crucial information in order to answer your question.

Dont do it even if told you its ok to do

Even if Wio is under your name you as owner of the company

Try to open an account in Nomo bank and transfer from Mercury to Nomo then using ATM cash it out there in UAE
