I tried to deposit funds with Wise visa debit card to several crypto exchanges (e.g. coinbase) but got declined each time.
In Wise App I see those transactions as 0 as "card checking" without any meaningful messages or errors. I navigated to Help center in Wise App to dissect those failed transactions and found out message like the following below:
"Why was this payment declined?

Your card payment was declined for security reasons. We want to keep your money safe, and this payment wasn't within our risk appetite.
You won't be able to use your Wise card for this payment. You can use a different card or payment method."

Does anybody know how it is possible to buy crypto with a Wise debit card? Please do not suggest to use bank payment, since bank details are not availble to me until I prove residence permit. Will other options like Gooogle pay work with crypto exchanges (Wise debit card is linked to Google Pay)? Or Wise anyway will know that I try to trick them?

Wise and crypto don't go too well hand in hand, my account lasted exactly 9 days before getting permanently closed due to crypto transactions.

There is absolutely nothing new in this; if you search the forum for older threads, you will see that some of them are 5 years old, and even then, it was the same. You can certainly receive FIAT from crypto exchanges, but you cannot send to them, and this also applies to their debit cards.

So, everything else posted here is nonsense; it has always been this way!

My personal favorite thread posted in the Mentor Group. Group of investment companies to avoid licensing.

Confirmed with Wise support:
"We can't support transfers to Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency, directly or indirectly."
