I was wondering how difficult it is to rent a house in Bristol for someone relocating to the UK for a few years?

In Germany it is almost impossible just to compare. How is it in the UK ?

Depends on the owner/landlord. Some will ask for your legal status in the country. They‌ are legally obliged to make sure you have the right to stay in the UK.‍ But overall it's easier in comparison to Germany.

There's a minimum 6 months lease agreement⁠ and you have to pay a security deposit (usually one month rent). That's if you⁤ rent from a private landlord. Renting from an agency incur extra costs, but that's normal⁣ and expected. No one works for free. Also as a rule you will be asked⁢ to provide references and proof of income.
