I finally was able to get a US merchant account to accept card payments. I am able to type them in or use their built in invoicing service. What is the best way to go about automating payments from my website (woocommerce) without the merchant seeing the products my customers are buying?

Mind sharing more info about US merchant account?
Did you use your US LLC business or? Which merchant provider? What were the KYC?

thanks

You can try payment proxies like trexle or spreedly combined with a webhook relay.

But attention. I sadly had to notice that this will get more and more difficult. Starting 2020 I got so many accounts blocked, you can't imagine... I sadly think that you will only have a chance for a continues webshop with not so TOS confirm products via a frontshop 🙁
And even then you have to have a lot of luck to not get reported.

Especially stripe is going crazy right now...
You really have to calculate if this will be worth the struggle, because you will need a lot of accounts and companies. For example I decided to not offer payment processing anymore since 2020 🙁

I think that only safe solution from now on is sending customers invoices where they can pay using local bank services.
Of course, you can use Chinese payment processors but it is not reliable as using regular western countries processors.

It all depends of what is the type of your business and who are the customers. If you are into business that is considered illegal or extremely high risk, then invoicing is probably best solution, although it is not perfect and reporting from unsatisfied customers is still an issue and can cause problems.

If you are into legal and high risk business, then finding a decent payment processor is not difficult.

@neweraoffshore can you provide more details about those webhooks and payment proxies? Can it be used for illegal business? Of course, under heavy storefront-ing 🙂

That's not so easy to explain. For spreedly etc. you need coding skills.
Trexle has a Wordpress plugin, however it is not working properly after "strong customer identification" anymore.
Spreedly or Trexle will hide the IP of the site and you can change payment descriptions (only with spreedly, not with the out of the box trexle plugin, as far as I know). The way then is like this: Your Site --> Spreedly --> Payment Processor.
As Webhook relay i can recommend Relay and proxy all your webhooks to public and internal destinations - - Web Relay. This will route webhooks to your page without telling your real website to the payment processor. The way here is then like this: Payment Processor --> Webhook Relay --> Your Site.

The next benefit of services like spreedly is that you can enter multiple accounts from different payment providers. For example 5 Stripe accounts, 5 Authorize accs, whatever. And when one account is blocked you can switch instantly.
You can alos run scenarios like doing only 5k per month per account, so you don't trigger the audit threshold.
With this you have a lot more chances to run your business smoothly.
However, it will still be a struggle since 2020.
