Any one has any info about Freedom Bank kazakhstan? Seems like it could be a solid option for people who have connections to russia/ukraine as well as the EU.

Used to be very, very easy to open an account online. IIRC, there was a period when you could open an account entirely via Telegram.

As the bank has faced some scrutiny since then, it has become harder. But I don't know how much harder. Maybe harder compared to before just means it's up to normal standards of due diligence.

Yeah, I did my research, the feds were digging into the founder, but came with nothing. every 3 letter word agency came to the founder, but it's understandable given his location and his past Russian & saint kitts Citizenships.

But I guess it's worth looking into

Is the bank only for companies registered in Kazakhstan ? how safe is it to bank there?

Anybody can open an account there. 15 million KZT are insured by KDIF US savings accounts and 10 million otherwise when in KZT. Foreign currencies are insured up to 5 million KZT equivalent. Freedom Bank is active quite internationally, they offer brokerage services in the west:

I personally would rather recommend Halyk, which is by far the biggest player in the country.

You can't do swift transfers there anymore, well, you can, but only to a limited country, so I wouldn't even bother.
