Revealed: African island fights offshore gambling network linked to UK family
London-based property investors deny selling licences to casinos claiming to be based on Anjouan, a tiny Indian Ocean island
This is finally starting to go mainstream, it's so funny to also see so many gambling operators getting the Anjouan license thinking it's real (at least some do because they know they need it just because famous slot providers including Pragmatic Play decide to see Anjouan as valid because of greed and accept it) and then many are even surprised in the online gambling community now...
This is insane because it shows how much incompetency there is in the world in general as well, most of these casino owners think they will have a successful and peaceful life but I honestly refuse to believe that, even with all the corruption, in my opinion it's inevitable that at some point we'll see a big break down of the industry, and all their names are out there! (Because they don't even hide their identities).
I know people in the industry that in 2026 think because they have an Anjouan license and Anjouan company (or any offshore company) then they are also allowed to accept any player and pay no taxes as well (they literally believe with a company abroad at 0% corporate tax they don't have to pay any tax regardless of their personal residency and principal point of administration!) And about the players, they seriously think they can accept EU players etc. (funny part is that many geoblock the US because the US is the most aggressive against online gambling, but then they believe they can accept pretty much players from almost everywhere else...) So much ignorance around, from the smallest operator to the biggest btw.
Sooner or later, the industry is going to fall apart and we'll see some operators getting a bit smarter but still led by greed and using .to domains as well š
In general this is a big lesson for everybody, that you need to know what you're doing, especially if you want to be a criminal, at least study the industry and understand how it works...
