Hi Everybody,

I am a citizen of the EU and resident + tax resident in a South American country. I own a HK company but with full substance and active involved local director.

I have been looking at Cayman Enterprise City. It is a very interesting model. It fits me well, because I would get a work visa through my own company for 5 years, renewal for 4 years and then I can apply for Permanent Cayman residency. I really like the Grand Cayman from spending 2 months with assisting one of my friends companys growth ( he had full Cayman citizenship ). I'm a fan of Cayman weather and my friend expressed good results with the school system which is not much use to me because I have no wife or kids but still good to know.

I do not have an issue with living nearly anywhere. I am focused primarily on my work for nearly all of the day.

I think Cayman can work well because of the good privacy but still fair regulated country. 0% tax is most beneficial to say the obvious. The CEC informed me that they can provide some assistance with Butterfield Bank. Butterfield seems pretty reliable, they have good quality correspondents like BNY Mellon and Barclays, So it might be more reliable than the Carribean Banks I have experienced like EPB and International Nevis bank ( I don't remember the full name ).

Does anybody have experience with this freezone and then moving to the Caymans with it? At what scale is it worth it, and is the Cayman really so good for lifestyle?

I will appreciate any tips.

This is something I would also like to know, I am very curious about other people's experiences. Other Caribbean islands are considerably more difficult/expensive to get residency in so this seems like an interesting setup.

I just read the following thread and it has made me curious to learn more.

According to the service provider mentioned, you can set up a company with substance and within 5 days get a Visa to live in the Cayman Islands. BUT - how much does it cost to live there and do you get access to live in the USA as well or is it only on those islands and how do you live on such an island? Some Castaway film or can you live a life there?

Thread 'Is it worth it to move to cayman for a crypto UHNWI? Security concerns'

As per title. Of concern are for sure a steady flow of violent robberies reported from cayman at least once-twice a month. The place is small enough that even if you keep a low profile, everyone will know who you are (when you acquire property for example) and you therefore become a target. If there are organized armed robberies there for cash, surely they can get organized if they know someone has crypto. Those armes robberies often happen in broad daylight, in the city center, west bay, etc.. So you get to live in an expensive and isolated place, while still worrying for your safety...

Thank you, I both read those. I'm seriously considering giving it a try later this year. Will update in this thread in case I do. I wonder how hard it is to get an EMI for IBAN payments there.
