For a lot of small amount payments there are many cheaper options where you will‌ pay less than a cent per transaction. LTC is a perfect example. Also Dash, a‍ coin that has been neglected lately, but is as old as Ether itself.

Definitely the go. I’d personally recommend a Layer2 on Ethereum like Optimisim, Polygon or Arbitrum because‌ you get the benefits of a historically stable and respected chain with lower transaction fees.‍

Out of them all, Arbitrum is probably the most supported with Defi.
