EIN with SSN

Hello,

I am a foreigner and a non resident, but I have SSN because I was working in USA with J1 visa years ago. Should I use SSN and apply for EIN online? Can that have any impact on my taxes? Or should I still fill out the SS4 form? Thank you.

Yes, you can apply for EIN with your SSN. It does not in and of itself affect your tax status as a non-resident alien.
