I just learned about the city Varosha in Famagusta, Cyprus - a big ghost city where no one lives other than homeless people which can be useful as well.

So guys, if you need a postal address and homeless guy, go there.

Amazing read and new to me. I wonder how many fake postal boxes are already set there. I will book a flight to Cyprus next week this fits in to my plans and structures perfectly.

Will take advantage of it somehow. I have a few friends in Cyprus that can do the scouting for me.

Be careful having an address in TRC. Increased risk of having your accounts frozen for residing in an unrecognized territory that most banks' internal systems either aren't compatible with or simply consider off-limits due to risk.

Might as well claim Sealand or Bir Tawil as your place of residence.

This is the probably the answer to your question.

Exactly; Who's going to accept address / person with residence in TRC?

Thanks for advise on TRC but you may find it useful for other stuff not including banking or financial services.

Do you think if you just need the address for relocating purpose to tell the your country where you relocate that it would work?

So you can disappear and be untraceable because they will look after you in the TRC address and not where you really are.

Addresses in TRNC have two addresses. There is the local address in TRNC, which is not addressable under UPU standards. In order to receive mail, you have to write your TRNC address and then Mersin 10, Turkey. Technically that means the letter is addressed to an address in Türkiye.

When the bureaucrat is typing in the ISO-3166 code for your new country of residence, they can't find one for TRNC. So they either pick Cyprus or Türkiye, or they reject your filing.

So, I've been there, and it's a bit different from what I had imagined; it's not so easy to get there. A taxi driver was kind enough to drive me almost to the area so I could get an overview. But this particular place doesn't seem like a good idea - too many tourists.

I have been there also, that's because I was skeptic about how it can be useful; better to go in the outskirts of east Europe countries, especially in villages, you can easily find abandoned homes, or people willing to sell also their soul for a few bucks. With EU documents, and EU addresses, everything is 10000x easier than an address or person in an unrecognized territory.

very good to know, I forget about it.

What's the point of those ghost postal addresses? I read somewhere on OCT that you find an abandoned apartment or house, ship your letters and stuff there, and pick it up. Is that how it works? I had better use some mail forwarding or pay someone.
