Today I got some free time and I started to read about ways to ensure your devices in case they fall in the “wrong” hands.

Basically I don't like any kind of factory reset that require connection of the smartphone to a network.

I found there are services that work with imei, so in case you lose your device you can send wipe instructions using the emergency channel of your phone. Same that happened when you “lock” your SIM card if you lose it. Anyone know or can suggest a service like that?

That's an very interesting question.

So what you mean is the PIN of your phone may be easy to guess or hack ?

My concern is more about official investigations performed from authorities.
I have 3 devices in total:
Mac book
Iphone
Android

The first 2 can be reset from remote with find my phone. But to work this require the device is connected to some network.

Same for android.
