#BREAKING | 🇺🇸 — Up to 319 million SpaceX (SPCX) shares — worth roughly $42–45 billion depending on the prevailing price — become eligible for sale today as the next scheduled tranche of post-IPO lock-up restrictions lifts.

This is the second major release after the larger ~911.5 million-share unlock on August 6. SpaceX used a staggered schedule rather than a single 180-day cliff. Additional tranches follow in September and October, with a bigger earnings-linked release later in the year. Elon Musk’s shares remain locked until June 2027.

Unlocks make shares eligible to trade; they do not automatically mean they will be sold. The stock has already absorbed the first large wave without collapsing.

🇨🇦🤝🇮🇷 — Conservative Party of Canada Leader, Pierre Poilievre declares his support for the Crown Prince of Iran, Reza Pahlavi:

It was a pleasure to speak with Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi about the mission for a free and democratic Iran, returned to the Iranian people and free from the terror of the regime in Tehran.

I shared with him the tremendous support I saw from Canada’s Persian community in Vancouver and their hope for freedom and democratic change in Iran.

We discussed the importance of sustained international pressure on the Islamic Republic, maintaining internet access for Iranians, using frozen Iranian regime assets rather than Western taxpayer dollars to support the Iranian people, and ensuring that Iranians themselves determine the future of their country through free elections and a democratic constitutional process.

Conservatives support comprehensive sanctions and the seizure of regime assets, expelling the IRGC from Canada, protecting Persian and Jewish communities here at home from threats and intimidation, and maintaining the Conservative policy of no formal diplomatic relations with the Islamic Republic.

I was also pleased to invite the Crown Prince to visit Canada and look forward to continuing our discussions about how Canada can support the Iranian people in reclaiming their country and securing a free and democratic future.

🇷🇺🇺🇦 4. RUSSIA + UKRAINE: WAR + ENERGY + ECONOMIC SURVIVAL

The Russia-Ukraine war remains fundamentally a war of economic endurance as well as military power.

🇷🇺 For Russia: energy revenues remain important to the state budget, while sanctions, military spending and restricted access to technology create long-term economic pressure.

🇺🇦 For Ukraine: the challenge is even more fundamental — maintaining state finances, infrastructure and military capacity during a prolonged war requires enormous external financial and military support.
And Europe is now facing another energy shock.

The current U.S.-Iran conflict and disruption around the Strait of Hormuz have pushed Brent crude close to $90 per barrel, with shipping through the strait severely disrupted.
That matters far beyond the Middle East.

Higher oil and refined-fuel prices → higher transport and production costs → renewed inflation → pressure on consumers → pressure on central banks.

Energy is once again becoming a geopolitical weapon.

🇺🇸❌🇮🇷🇱🇧 — US Department of Treasury designates 10 individuals in a Hizballah cash smuggling network moving up to hundreds of millions of dollars via commercial flights between Lebanon, Türkiye, UAE, and Iran. Hizballah is also re-designated for acting under IRGC-QF direction.

Today, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) is designating 10 individuals that are part of a network responsible for transferring cash to Hizballah.

The network utilizes couriers travelling on commercial airline flights between Lebanon, Turkiye, the UAE, and Iran to move up to hundreds of millions of dollars between jurisdictions, providing an avenue outside the formal financial system for Hizballah to obtain foreign currency and evade sanctions.

OFAC is also re-designating Hizballah for service to the Iranian regime under the command of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Qods Force (IRGC-QF).

Today’s action is being taken pursuant to the United States’ counterterrorism authority, Executive Order (E.O.) 13224, as amended.

The U.S. Department of State designated Hizballah as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) pursuant to E.O. 13224 on October 31, 2001, for having committed, or posing a significant risk of committing, acts of terrorism that threaten the security of U.S. nationals or the national security, foreign policy, or economy of the United States.

Previously, the U.S. Department of State had designated Hizballah as a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO) pursuant to section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act on October 8, 1997. OFAC designated the IRGC-QF as an SDGT pursuant to E.O. 13224 on October 25, 2007, for providing material support to multiple terrorist organizations, including Hizballah. The U.S. Department of State designated the IRGC-QF as an FTO pursuant to section 219 of the Immigration and Nationality Act on April 8, 2019.

🇺🇸❌🇮🇷 — US Vice President JD Vance on Iran:

🇺🇸❌🌹🛠 — POTUS on the communists that have taken over the Democrat Party:
"In 1,000 years, that stuff has never worked, and it's not going to work now. They're not even smart people. You watch some of them — half of them can't even speak properly."

🇺🇸🚫🇨🇺 — U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced new sanctions against Cuba, some of them targeting what he described as a network that radicalizes people in the United States.

“For a long time, the Cuban regime has sponsored a vast subversive network in the United States with the goal of identifying, cultivating, and radicalizing subversives, operating largely under the guise of educational or cultural exchange. The [Donald] Trump administration will not stand idly by while a hostile foreign power seeks to exploit our freedoms — freedoms its own people do not enjoy — by deceiving and corrupting American citizens with lies, espionage tactics, and other unlawful actions, as part of the regime's raison d’être of exporting Marxism, racial resentment, and communist violence throughout the world.”

🤡 The U.S. Secretary of State cited the recent centennial of the birth of the late dictator Fidel Castro, for which Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva sent a message praising the Castro regime, as a pretext “to revitalize this subversive network, [with the dictatorship] bringing a new brigade of international sympathizers to Havana to establish contacts with regime officials.”

➡️ Three leaders of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (Icap), which had previously been targeted by U.S. measures, were sanctioned: the organization's president, Fernando González Llort, who served 15 years in prison in the United States for his role in the Wasp Network espionage network (which operated in Florida during the 1990s) and who, according to Rubio, “continued his efforts to destabilize the United States after returning to Cuba through his involvement with Icap”; Noemi Ramona Rabaza Fernandez, the group's first vice president; and Leima Martinez Freire, Icap's director for North America.

💥 The sanctions, which include the blocking of assets in the United States and a ban on financial and commercial transactions with U.S. citizens and companies, also cover nine entities, including Cuba's Ministry of Construction and state-owned mining companies, which “sustain the regime's repressive apparatus through control of strategic economic sectors.”

#BREAKING | 🇵🇦 — Panama Canal Authority imposing new transit caps and tighter draft limits as El Niño-driven drought reduces water levels in Gatun Lake.

Daily vessel transits will be limited to 34 starting September 4 and 32 from September 15 (from a recent average of about 35). Neopanamax slots will be held at nine per day, with Panamax capacity cut further in the second phase.

Additional draft reductions will force large ships to carry less cargo so they sit higher in the water. Rainfall from May–August was 34% below the historical average and inflows 44% below normal.

Carriers have responded with Panama Canal surcharges ranging from a few hundred dollars up to $1,000 per 40-foot container. The canal handles roughly 5% of global maritime trade.
