🤝 He delivered this message alongside Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita, who was in Cali this Friday for the inauguration of Abelardo de la Espriella.

📝 Restrepo explained that this new phase in relations between the two nations will strengthen economic and political ties, and he did not rule out the possibility of a future free trade agreement to boost investment.

#NEWS | 🇨🇲 — Cameroon’s 93-year-old President Paul Biya remains abroad after more than two months

Paul Biya, the world’s oldest serving head of state, has not returned to Cameroon or made a public appearance since leaving the country on 6 June 2026 for what officials described as a “brief private stay” in Europe.

The 93-year-old leader, in power since 1982, is reported to be in Geneva, Switzerland. Government officials, including Communication Minister René Emmanuel Sadi, have stated that Biya is alive, in good health, and continues to work from abroad. They have dismissed speculation about his condition and said he will return “very soon,” without providing a specific date.

Biya has issued several decrees during the absence, including a recent military leadership reshuffle signed from Geneva. The prolonged stay has drawn criticism from opposition figures and fuelled public debate in Cameroon over governance continuity.
