🇪🇸The Union of Troops' Military Personnel (UMT) filed a request on 16 February 2026 with 13 questions to the Defence Undersecretariat and the Armed Forces Personnel Council (COPERFAS) over the alleged installation of cameras and microphones in vending machines at several barracks.

The group says the Defence Ministry’s reply, sent on 16 July 2026, was classified as “official use,” preventing disclosure and limiting access to relevant information. It also claims Defence introduced urgent corrective measures and changes to future contracts, while questions remain about how long the devices operated, possible responsibility, and whether the case was reported to Spain’s data protection authority.

☦️ ✝️ 🇬🇷🇻🇦 — The Pastoral Committees of the Syriac Orthodox, Syriac Catholic, Greek Orthodox, and Greek Melkite Catholic churches have issued a statement condemning the arbitrary detentions of their faithful from Saidnaya (the village - not to be confused with Sednaya prison).

The Christian faithful are incited against by Syrian "electronic flies" (online bots) under the allegation of being "shabiha" (thugs of the former regime).

Public celebrations of the Feast of the Transfiguration, the Feast of the Holy Cross, and the Feast of Hagia Sophia will be cancelled until justice is achieved for their people.

Statement Issued by the Pastoral Committees of the Greek Orthodox, Syriac Orthodox, Greek Melkite Catholic, and Syriac Catholic Churches in Saidnaya

As this year’s blessed feast season approaches, it comes while a number of our sons continue to be arbitrarily detained without any legal justification, and without being granted any judicial rights, despite our continuous appeals to the security and judicial authorities and the repeated promises that the detainees would be released due to the absence of any evidence supporting the accusations against them.

At the same time, our people from Saidnaya continue to face degrading treatment at the border crossing (the newly established Yabous crossing), where every person from Saidnaya is stopped for several hours, photographed, and their photo is sent for review before they are eventually allowed to pass—without any consideration for the elderly or women.

Furthermore, we continue to witness ongoing incitement, intimidation, and threats against the town’s residents through social media, as well as repeated provocations targeting the town’s youth by individuals described as “electronic flies”. This comes in addition to the deteriorating security situation, marked by increasing thefts and kidnappings in recent times.

Therefore, the pastoral committees representing all Christian denominations in Saidnaya, together with the Reverend Fathers George Najmeh, Fadioul Najar, and Taher Youssef, have decided the following:

To cancel all public celebrations of the Feast of the Transfiguration, the Feast of the Holy Cross, and the Feast of Hagia Sophia for this year, limiting observances to liturgical services held inside the churches.
To continue suspending all public celebrations and activities until our detained sons are released and the kidnapped individuals are returned, particularly through closing the Saidnaya file, ending the targeting of our youth with baseless accusations, and halting these practices.

Justice must be impartial rather than selective. It is preferable that all cases be opened and all those responsible regardless of who they are be held accountable, accompanied by genuine reconciliation with the past that is consistent with the aspiration to build a new Syria founded on justice, citizenship, and freedom.

The people of Saidnaya will exercise all constitutional rights available to every Syrian citizen and will express their views in the civilized manner for which they are known, should they conclude that legal and legislative avenues have been exhausted, in order to secure the return of our people and the protection of our rights.

🇧🇷🇧🇷⁉️ — 🇺🇸 Brazilian Defense Minister José Múcio stated that, in the event of a U.S. invasion, the best option would be to "open the gate," saying that "there is no equipment or money":

"We have to open the gate. Brazil does not have the equipment to confront them, nor does it have the money to fix the gate."

🇧🇷🤡💥🇧🇷 — 🇺🇸 Behind the scenes, members of President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's (PT) government are advocating for the dismissal of Defense Minister José Múcio following statements in which he said that it would be better to "open the gate" in the event of an attack by the United States against Brazil.

🇺🇸❌🌹🛠 — US President Trump blasts the rise of socialist-backed candidates within the Democratic Party:

I think it's crazy because they're going to ruin our country.

Anybody doing what they're doing and what they're espousing, everything turns out to ashes and junk and filth.

You go to these cities that are taken over by the socialists and the communists. They're always filthy, dirty, they're disgusting, they're always dirty. And that's what you'll get.

🇺🇸🤝🌹 — Reporter asks Minority Leader of the United States Senate Chuck Chummer what he thinks about DSA rise inside the Democratic Party:
"Is the rise of the DSA good for your party?"

🇺🇸 Senator Chuck Schumer:
"Look... We are a big tent party. And being a big tent party is a strength, not a weakness."

🇺🇸❌☪️🛠 — Islamic-Communist Abdul El-Sayed has released a new campaign video portraying himself as a moderate and emphasizing his “American identity”.

▶️Abdul El-Sayed’s Senate campaign has leaned heavily into online progressive culture, with promises like “Medicare for All” (Which has been done before and failed tremendously) and sweeping government programs, but often without explaining the massive costs, trade-offs, or potential tax increases required to make those promises a reality.

⁉️For many voters, the question is whether these ambitious slogans are realistic policy plans or just unattainable campaign promises.

❌❌🇹🇷 — Twitter/X announces that it blocked the Kemalist Istanbul Mayor Imamoglu's Presidential candidacy account under a Turkish court order

X announced that it will appeal the decision on courts
X received an order to restrict access in Türkiye to the official Presidential Candidacy Office account of the now-detained Mayor of Istanbul. Although Türkiye’s laws force us to comply with the order, we are challenging the order in court and, in the spirit of full transparency, are sharing the court order.

This follows the similar order we received and complied with in May 2025 restricting access in Türkiye to a related account belonging to the Mayor. At that time we also issued a public statement via this account, expressed our strong disagreement, challenged the order in court, and shared the court order. Our challenge against this order remains pending before the Constitutional Court, awaiting a decision following our recent legal filings.

These orders require X to block content in Türkiye that is available in the rest of the world. Not complying with these orders can trigger severe sanctions, including throttling of the entire platform in Türkiye. X challenges these orders in court because we believe keeping the platform accessible in Türkiye is vital to supporting freedom of expression and access to information.

X will continue legally challenging requests to remove content in Türkiye and around the world when those requests do not align with principles of free expression, due process, or other local laws.
