Anniversary of the Suwayda massacre.
Between 14 and 16 July 2025, STG troops and their Bedouin allies entered a number of towns in the Suwayda Governorate, including the capital, and carried out a series of massacres against Druze and Christian civilians. In response, over the following three days, Druze militias carried out attacks against Bedouin civilians and property. The massacre was brought to a halt thanks to the tenacity of the Hijri National Guard and Israeli support, but this did not prevent between 1,700 and 2,000 people from being killed during those days – a figure as significant as the number of victims of the massacres on the predominantly Alawite coast in March.

On the first anniversary of the massacres, thousands of Druze both inside and outside Syria have commemorated the martyrs and protested against Jolani and his policies of persecution. All this is taking place against a backdrop of tension within the region controlled by Druze militias, which is suffering from a supply crisis and where internal friction is becoming increasingly apparent, whilst the threat of a new attack from Damascus keeps the population on high alert.

🇺🇸🇺🇸❌🇮🇷 — Last night, United States Central Command (CENTCOM) announced it had finished the 7th wave of strikes in Iran

Along the report, the CENTCOM published a footage showing its forces launching latest wave of precision strikes on strategic Iranian military sites

In Statement, it said:
U.S. forces ended the seventh consecutive night of strikes against Iran on July 17 at 9:30 p.m. ET.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) hit surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities. U.S. forces employed fighter aircraft, aerial drones, and warships in addition to other assets.

CENTCOM continues to hold Iran accountable at the Commander in Chief's direction while fully enforcing a naval blockade against Iranian ports.

More than 50,000 American service members are operating across the Middle East and remain vigilant, lethal, and ready.

🇬🇷⚔️🇹🇷🇱🇾⚡️SYRIGOS’S GAMBIT: UNDERMINING THE TURKEY–LIBYA AGREEMENT THROUGH A UNIFIED ICJ MOVE!

Athens should, according to MP Angelos Syrigos, pursue a joint approach with Malta, Italy, Egypt, and Tunisia and bring Libya’s maritime disputes before the ICJ, rather than acting alone.

His logic: a single multilateral case could strengthen Crete’s maritime zones and indirectly undermine the Turkey–Libya Agreement, even if the Court doesn’t annul it outright.

But the obstacles are major. The ICJ needs Libya’s explicit consent, which is doubtful given Tripoli’s ties with Turkey. And the Court is unlikely to issue a ruling that invalidates Turkish claims when Turkey isn’t a party; issues involving a third state’s rights are usually excluded.

Overall, Syrigos’s idea looks less like a guaranteed legal solution and more like a way to increase multilateral pressure on the Turkey–Libya deal and frame it as legally contentious.
