🇺🇸📞🇬🇧 — US President Donald Trump on his talks with King Charles III of Great Britain:
Windsor Castle. It’s the longest building I’ve ever seen.

But I said to Charles, “Who built this? This place is incredible.”

He said, William the Conqueror. I said, “Oh, William the Conqueror—was he a nice man?”

Charles said, “No, no, he was extremely strong and very tough.”

I said, “I figured with a name like William the Conqueror, I would think… what do you think? I think you’d be tough.”

I said we have to come up with a good name for you, maybe Charles the Conqueror.

🇦🇿🇬🇪🤩❌🇷🇺 — Russian State Media claims that a 'Russophobic conference' was organized in Azerbaijan, with presence of activists from various countries

➡️ The conference "Cultural and Ethnic Diversity: Lessons of History, Modern Challenges" was organized in the city Shusha by the "Center for Cultural and Ethnic Diversity".

➡️ The event was attended by what Russian State Media called as 'Russophobic activists' from 10 countries, Azerbaijan, the USA, France, Lithuania, Poland, the Czech Republic, Germany, Israel, Turkey, and Georgia, with the following demands being placed for Russia:

Stop sending representatives and individuals of non-Russian (Slavic) peoples (Circassians, Lezgins, Avars, Tatars, Kumyks, Chechens, Sakha (Yakuts), Buryats, and others) to the front

Recognize the genocide of the Circassian, Tatar and other peoples by the Russian Empire and Soviet Union

Put an end to chauvinism and xenophobia in Russian Federation

During the opening of the conference, it was stated that Azeris in Russia are "systematically oppressed on ethnic and religious grounds".

Meanwhile, per the conference's own statements, two panel discussions were held during the event, focusing on the preservation of cultural and ethnic diversity, the protection of indigenous peoples' rights and the consequences of Russo-Armenian colonialism

In statement, the Conference stated:
"We, the civil society representatives and researchers representing various countries, as participants of the international conference entitled 'Cultural and Ethnic Diversity: Lessons from History and Contemporary Challenges', in line with the outcomes of the Shusha discussions, declare the following:

- Cultural and ethnic diversity, tolerance, and multiculturalism must be a national asset for every state. No nation should be humiliated, discriminated, or persecuted based on its ethnic and religious affiliation. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, international obligations on the elimination of all forms of racial discrimination, and UNESCO's principles on the protection of cultural diversity must become effective tools for protecting the fundamental rights of peoples who have been expelled from their historical lands, subjected to mass massacres, genocides, and deportations, and faced with the threat of losing their historical and cultural heritage and language. Modern forms of colonialism, and actions bringing tragedy, slavery, and suffering to peoples, must be prevented. The ethnic and religious affiliation of peoples must not be considered a crime, nor should it lead to collective punishment;

- The national dignity and pride of peoples must be taken into account, the principles of humanism must be taken as a guide, and confrontation and clashes must be replaced by dialogue, cooperation, and an environment of trust;

- The forced deployment of ethnic minorities in Russia - Circassians, Lezgins, Avars, Tatars, Kumyks, Chechens, Sakhas, Buryats, and other non-Russian peoples - to the Ukrainian front through persecution, intimidation, and imprisonment must be stopped. Russia must learn lessons from history, recognize the genocides against Circassians and other peoples, cease the glorification of those who shed their blood, and ensure that archival materials on related historical topics are accessible. Chauvinism and xenophobic rhetoric in Russia, as well as the attacks and persecution against non-Russians by "Skinhead" gangs and their various manifestations emerging under new names and guises at their own discretion, must be stopped;

- Azerbaijan's exemplary model in preserving ethnic and cultural diversity, and in promoting interfaith, intercultural, and inter-civilizational harmony and dialogue, must be commended. Azerbaijan's historic Shusha Victory should serve as a model and a symbol of the restoration of historical justice, which colonized peoples need the most."

BREAKING: Pashinyan's government has detained Prosperous Armenia Party leader and businessman Gagik Tsarukyan after carrying out one of the largest coordinated operations against his business empire and organizations in recent years.

Tsarukyan has been charged with allegedly aiding large-scale fraud and money laundering as part of a criminal investigation into alleged offenses committed between 2022 and 2024, according to Armenia's Investigative Committee. He is expected to appear before a court, where prosecutors will seek his pre-trial detention. His lawyer, Yerem Sargsyan, called the accusations "absurd and ridiculous."

Authorities surrounded Tsarukyan's residence early Monday morning, blocked access to the property, and carried out more than 12 hours of searches while simultaneously raiding nearly all companies belonging to the Multi Group concern, as well as the homes of several company directors.

Authorities also sealed the headquarters of the Armenian National Olympic Committee, which Tsarukyan has led since 2004, along with hotels he owns in the resort town of Tsaghkadzor. According to the Prosperous Armenia Party, the raids forced around ten companies operating within the Multi Group concern to halt operations, leaving approximately 7,000 employees unable to work.

The detention comes less than a month after authorities prevented Tsarukyan from leaving Armenia through Zvartnots International Airport after opening a separate criminal case accusing him of large-scale tax evasion. It also follows recent government actions involving AraratCement, further expanding Pashinyan's government's campaign against Tsarukyan's business interests.

Tsarukyan has consistently denied wrongdoing and has repeatedly described the cases against him as politically motivated. One of Nikol Pashinyan's most outspoken political opponents, he led the "Prosperous Armenia" alliance in the June 2026 parliamentary elections, where it narrowly failed to enter parliament after the results from three polling stations were invalidated, a decision later upheld by Armenia's Constitutional Court.

Armenia’s opposition parties have issued a joint statement strongly condemning what they describe as the political persecution of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, as well as the searches carried out at businesses affiliated with him.

The signatories expressed solidarity with Tsarukyan, stating that no individual should face pressure for their political views, opposition activity, or political position in a democratic state. They also voiced support for what they described as all political prisoners and individuals allegedly facing politically motivated prosecution in Armenia, pledging to continue defending their rights, democratic values, and the country’s constitutional order.

The opposition argued that the actions against Tsarukyan are further evidence that Armenia, under Nikol Pashinyan’s government, is moving toward authoritarian rule through what they called a campaign of mass political persecution. They claimed the growing number of political prisoners and politically prosecuted individuals demonstrates an escalating crackdown on dissent.

According to the statement, the criminal proceedings against Tsarukyan bear no relation to genuine justice or the fight against crime and are instead motivated solely by his political activity. The parties pointed to Pashinyan’s pre-election remarks, in which he threatened to strip the leader of a party participating in the elections of his assets, arguing that he had openly signaled the campaign against Tsarukyan in advance.

The opposition further claimed the authorities are attempting to systematically weaken and effectively decapitate the opposition, suppress public dissent, and create a climate of fear ahead of important political developments affecting Armenia’s national interests.

The statement also warned that the government’s actions would have serious economic consequences, arguing that pressure on major businesses, violations of property rights, and the use of law enforcement as a political tool would undermine investor confidence, increase unemployment, and deepen economic instability.

Calling for unity among opposition parties, civil society, and the broader public, the signatories said only a united effort could safeguard Armenia’s statehood, constitutional order, democratic principles, and citizens’ rights.

They also appealed to Armenia’s international partners, international organizations, and institutions defending human rights and democracy to publicly condemn what they described as politically motivated persecution of opposition figures and violations of democratic norms.

The statement concluded by declaring that Armenia needs the rule of law, an independent judiciary, political pluralism, and national unity rather than political repression. It pledged that the opposition would continue defending citizens’ rights, Armenia’s constitutional order, national interests, and statehood through lawful political means.

The statement was signed by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), Hayakve National Civic Union, the Armenian National Congress, the Republican Party of Armenia, the Prosperous Armenia Party, the Democratic Alternative Party, the Mother Armenia Party, and the Democratic Party of Armenia.
