🇮🇱🇦🇪🇸🇦 — A FlyDubai flight from Dubai to Tel Aviv briefly squawked 7500, the international transponder code indicating unlawful interference or a possible hijacking, prompting Israeli Air Force jets to scramble.

The aircraft later switched to the emergency code 7700 before disappearing from flight-tracking coverage. It subsequently landed safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia.

According to Israeli security sources, the incident that prompted the aircraft to issue the unlawful interference alert followed an altercation between the pilots on board.

No further details are immediately available.
 
🇮🇱🇦🇪 — Israeli Channel 14 reports that the FlyDubai flight incident is being investigated as a possible suicide attempt by one of the pilots, who allegedly performed a rapid descent from 30,000 feet to 15,000 feet at approximately Mach 1 within a short period of time.

The second pilot intervened and prevented further action.

Israeli Channel 12 reports that authorities are investigating whether one of the pilots stabbed the other.

Passengers say crew and passengers restrained the attacker.

I set a clear mission, gave our Commanders the tools to finish it, and refused to let a temporary presence become a permanent one.

➡️ The Iraqi government has declared a public holiday from Wednesday to Saturday to mark Iraq’s Sovereignty Days, following the completion of the withdrawal of US forces from the country.

➡️ Last week, Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi instructed ministries, government bodies and provincial authorities to coordinate with the Government Media Cell on events marking “Iraqi Sovereignty Day”.

➡️ The measures include ceremonies at government and public institutions to commemorate Iraq’s martyrs and victims, as well as wearing badges marking National Sovereignty Day, featuring a map of Iraq or the colours of the Iraqi flag, according to the Iraqi News Agency.
