🇦🇷⚠️🇬🇧🛢 — President Javier Milei announced the measures his government will take to defend Argentine resources against the Sea Lion oil project, which could begin offshore drilling in the Malvinas/Falkland Islands in the coming months

🇦🇷⚠️🇬🇧🛢 — President Milei will send a Sovereignty Defense Law to Congress based on three points:

1- Sanctioning companies and suppliers that participate directly or indirectly in unauthorized projects in the Falkland Islands, prohibiting them from doing business in Argentina and prosecuting them in absentia.
2- The creation of a National Security Council to coordinate the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Intelligence, and Economy in a common security plan, along with providing this council with economic and diplomatic tools to respond to any threat to the country's security.​

 
🇧🇦⚰️🛬 — On September 3, 2026, Bosnian Serbian War Hero General Ratko Mladić's body landed in Belgrade, flown from The Hague on a Serbian government plane.

🇷🇸 Serbian Army soldiers carried the coffin off the aircraft, draped in the flags of Serbia and Republika Srpska.

⚰️ His son Darko, a granddaughter, the Serbian justice minister, and two former comrades accompanied it.

🚓 The coffin was taken under heavy police escort to the Military Medical Academy for autopsy.

🥀 Citizens gathered along the route with banners reading "Welcome home, General."

📆 The funeral is scheduled for September 7 at Topčider Cemetery.

The footage shows the people gathered to watch the procession, while Serbian and Republika Srpska flags were displayed from overpasses as the convoy carrying Mladić’s remains passed along the route

 
🇯🇵🇺🇸 Japan, US Advance Trade Coordination

Japan and the US will move forward with cooperation under a US$550 billion trade deal, with Trade and Industry Minister Ryosei Akazawa saying in Japan that Washington will not impose higher tariffs on Japanese goods. Akazawa also said the two sides will reinforce supply chains for critical minerals, according to the agreement outlined here.

The arrangement links trade coordination with industrial resilience, particularly in sectors exposed to supply chain concentration and strategic resource risk. For Tokyo, confirmation that additional US tariffs are not planned reduces near-term pressure on exports while aligning bilateral economic policy more closely with wider US efforts to secure critical inputs.

The next phase will center on implementation of the trade package and supply chain measures. Critical minerals cooperation remains a key operational component of the broader economic relationship.

#BREAKING | 🇩🇪 — Germany: Saxony-Anhalt state election underway with higher midday turnout

Polling stations opened at 8 a.m. local time across the eastern German state. About 1.7 million eligible voters are electing a new Landtag. Stations close at 6 p.m. First projections are expected shortly afterward.

By noon, turnout stood at 34.7 percent — well above the 22.4 percent recorded at the same point in 2021. Final turnout in 2021 was 60.3 percent including postal votes.

The election is being closely watched. Pre-election polls placed the AfD at around 40–41 percent, ahead of the CDU at 23 percent. A provisional result is expected early Monday.

🇩🇪 📊 After counting the votes in more than half (1458 out of 2660) of the electoral districts, the "Alternative for Germany" party is leading with 48% of the votes, which would allow this party to form a government in the state of Saxony-Anhalt on its own.

If the final result is below 46%, and at the same time, the "Sahra Wagenknecht" bloc surpasses the 5% threshold (currently, BSW has 5.1%), then the leading opposition party in Germany would be just one seat short of being able to form a government on its own.
