🇺🇸❌🇨🇺 — On a possible U.S. military intervention in Cuba, the Secretary of War Pete Hegseth says:

"All options are on the table... including the military one. Cuba would do well to pay attention to President Trump's disposition."

🇺🇸🇸🇾🇱🇧🇱🇧🇮🇷 — Iran has sent messages to Syria via Turkey warning against the implementation of a military scenario reportedly being prepared with U.S. encouragement for Syria to intervene against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Tehran informed Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Iraq that any Syrian intervention against Hezbollah would trigger a broader regional confrontation on Syrian territory.

Iran warned that its missile response would include strikes on more than 100 strategic sites in Syria, including the Syrian Presidential Palace.

#BREAKING | 🇸🇾 🇮🇶 🇮🇷 🇮🇷 — Iranian-backed Shiite militias in Iraq have threatened to open a new front against Syria if Damascus moves against Hezbollah in Lebanon.

In response, Syrian forces have reportedly deployed additional heavy reinforcements along the Iraqi border and intensified contacts with Sunni factions in western Iraq.

These details remain unconfirmed by independent outlets or official statements from Baghdad, Damascus, or the militias involved. Earlier August reports had already noted mutual warnings and border alert postures between Syrian units and Iraqi Popular Mobilization Forces over potential spillover related to Hezbollah. The situation continues to be monitored amid heightened regional tensions.

🇮🇱❌🇮🇷🇬🇧🕋 — Israeli Prime-Minister Benjamin Netanyahu:
You might call Britain the "Islamic Republic of Britain."

Someone said that the first Islamic republic with nuclear weapons will be the Islamic Republic of Britain.

We’re making sure there won’t be another one—you know, in Iran.

Nasser Abu Bakr, the director of the Ramallah-based Palestinian Journalists Syndicate chief has accused Hamas-linked bribe-taking gangs of exploiting Gaza’s medical evacuation system, allowing healthy people to leave the territory in exchange for payments of up to $30,000 while critically ill and wounded patients remain waiting.

Abu Bakr said the issue became particularly urgent as the syndicate works to secure treatment abroad for 40 sick and wounded journalists, including 12 whose conditions cannot tolerate further delays. He accused Hamas of ultimately controlling the lists of those permitted to travel and vowed to expose officials and intermediaries involved in taking bribes.

The Gaza Medical Transfers Committee, operating under the Hamas-run Health Ministry, denied the accusations, saying medical evacuations are determined solely by patients’ medical needs and remain subject to Israeli exit approval.

Abu Bakr rejected the response and called on local Arabs to examine both accounts and draw their own conclusions.

🇷🇺❌🇯🇵 — On August 13, 2026, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited the Kuril Islands for the first time ever

➡️ According to Russian Media, the Russian president's work program began with the Yasny fish factory on the island of Iturup.

➡️ During the visit, the head of state also met with the governor of the Sakhalin region Limarenko, visited the central regional hospital and visited a secondary school named after the Hero of Russia, member of the North Military District Eduard Norpolov.

📝 Such a movement sparked a major outcry in Japan, as Japan considers the Kuril Islands as Japanese Sovereign Territory

🇷🇺💪 — Russians have the genetic code of winners, Putin said.

➡️ The head of the Sakhalin region, Limarenko, at a meeting with the president, said that he sees the mood of the population: “everything for victory.”

“These are our people. The genetic code of winners,” Putin reacted.

🇯🇵❌🇷🇺 — Japan’s Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi reacts to Russian President Visit to Kuril Islands (called by Japan as the Northern Territories):
Putin visited Etorofu, and we strongly protest this action. The Northern Territories are inherently part of Japan’s territory, both historically and under international law.

This visit to Etorofu by the incumbent President of Russia is incompatible with Japan’s consistent position regarding the Northern Territories.

It also hurts the feelings of the Japanese people and is absolutely unacceptable.

Following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, Japan–Russia relations are in a difficult situation. Even under such circumstances, Japan has made every possible effort.

However, I must say that this visit has further hardened anti-Russian sentiment within Japan and has made the restoration of relations over the medium to long term more difficult.

We want the Russian side to seriously recognize the gravity of this.

🇷🇺❌🇯🇵 — Former Russian President & Deputy Chair of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Medvedev:
Japan’s PM Takaichi can prattle on all she likes about the Kuril Islands being “historically Japanese,” but this chatter won’t change a thing.

They were, are, and will remain Russian land.

Anyone who fails to understand this will face the monstrous consequences of their delusion.

🇯🇵❌🇷🇺 — The Japanese Government lodged a strong protest over Putin’s visit to the Kuril Islands, called by Japan as its Northern Territories

Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi said Tokyo considers the islands to be an inherent part of Japanese territory, both historically and under international law.

Today, on August 13, I was informed that Mr. Putin, President of the Russian Federation, visited Etorofu Island. Subsequently, I summoned Mr. Nozdrev, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Japan, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and lodged a strong protest against this visit.
The Northern Territories are islands over which Japan has sovereignty and are an inherent territory of Japan. This visit is incompatible with Japan’s consistent position regarding the Northern Territories and is extremely regrettable.
Although Japan has continued to convey its position on the Northern Territories to the Russian side at every opportunity, the fact that this visit was carried out unilaterally not only has an extremely negative impact on Japan-Russia relations, which are already in a difficult situation due to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, but also offends the sentiments of the Japanese people and is utterly unacceptable.
I conveyed the above points to the Russian Ambassador to Japan and requested that he promptly relay them to the Russian government.

🇯🇵⚰️📝 — On today, August 15, 2026, the Day of the Imperial Japan's Surrender in the Pacific War, Japanese Defense Minister paid a visit to the Yasukuni shrine, where Imperial Japan's war dead, including multiple figures of WW2 era government considered as War Criminals, are buried in

🕊 Despite the controversies involving nations such as the two Koreas and mainland China, the Shrine holds symbolism that transcends the actions of Imperial Japan, clearly representing a place for the Japanese people to reflect on the past.

🚫 Such action, as expected, triggered notes of protest by the People's Republic of China and South Korea.

On X, the Japanese Defense Minister, Shinjiro Koizumi, said:
This morning, I paid a visit to Yasukuni Shrine. Since my first election, I have continued to visit on August 15.

In addition to offering my sincere condolences to the heroic spirits who sacrificed their precious lives for the nation, I expressed my reverence and prayed for their eternal repose.

And together with the vow of no war, I renewed my determination to continue fulfilling the responsibility of postwar Japan, which has steadfastly built its path as a peaceful nation.

Earlier, I also offered flowers at the Chidorigafuchi National Cemetery for War Dead, and from now on, I will attend the National Memorial Service for War Dead at Nippon Budokan.

🇯🇵⚰️🙏 — Representatives of the Far-Right Sanseito Party, Japan's main nationalist party, also went to the Yasukuni shrine today to pay respects for Imperial Japan's war dead

🇯🇵 Such party, should be noted, defends the restoration of the Emperor's powers and the restoration of the Pre-War Constitution, without the restrictions of the Japanese Armed Forces and Japan's capabilities to wage war.

In Statement, Sanseito said:
On this day, as we mark the end of the war,
I express my deepest condolences to all those who lost their precious lives
in the great war,
and solemnly offer my heartfelt tribute in remembrance.

With the vow never to repeat the horrors of war
and to achieve lasting peace,
I reaffirm this commitment deeply etched in my heart.

Today, amid successive attempts at unilateral
changes to the status quo backed by power,
from the United States, China, Russia, and beyond,
the international order is profoundly shaken.

While aspiring to "the justice and faith of the peace-loving nations,"
we cannot entrust our nation's security and survival solely to the will of other countries.

Peace is not something that can be maintained by prayer alone.

It is essential to connect our prayers for peace to concrete actions that build it
and safeguard it steadfastly.

We must deepen national dialogue on a comprehensive national strategy
encompassing diplomacy, defense, economic security, food, energy, information, and citizen protection, and share its fundamental direction.

In an era of so-called "G-Zero," where no nation leads the stability of the international community, it is an urgent task for our country to proactively protect our sovereignty and national interests by continuously reviewing and rebuilding our security framework.

At the same time, by respecting the history and culture of each country and contributing to the construction of a peaceful and stable international order through dialogue and cooperation, this too is considered an important mission for our nation.

Let us make this day one for reflecting on how we, the living, can pass on the precious things that our predecessors fought and sacrificed their lives to protect to the generations of the future.
