Hello, I'm starting an adult online business and i'm based in the UK. I'm considering a Cyprus offshore for privacy. Also I want to process Visa through CCBill, but I'm getting the impression that they would need a Cyprus ID for me which I obviously won't have because I'm a UK citizen.

Does anyone have experience of this and can tell me whether this is true or not?

Why do you think they will require that? If so, simply‍ ask @auric to provide it for you 🙂
CCBILL support⁤ rocks, if you get in chat with their support they will help you through the⁣ process.

btw, you should check the rules and new regulation laws for UK in terms of‌ P**N/adult laws it is VERY strict.

well if you just do Google search on UK + P**N laws + Online Adult‌ Entertainment UK, you will get loads of news
example - A huge number of sex‍ acts will be banned from P**N sites under proposed new law

why would⁣ they require a Cyprus ID. CCBILL does not work like PayPal does! They accept UK⁢ Citizens as beneficial owner and director of a Cyprus Company, no problem what so ever!︀

I spoke to CCBill and this is what they said

"Your identification must match the‌ region from which your company is registered. If you’re in the U.K., and your company‍ is registered in the U.K., your ID must be from the U.K. If you’re in Cyprus, and your company is registered in Cyprus, your ID must be from Cyprus. Does⁤ that make sense?"

So they are now following in the footsteps of PayPal, that sucks big times. Wonder‌ what they do with International large cooperations that have companies worldwide.

Why would CCBILL adopt these stupid rules? They didn't do that for centuries why now?‌

It is a regulation with VISA / Mastercard so they must comply. I am going‌ through some similar situation now also in the adult bizz
