For almost 1 year I have been using CyberGhostVPN as one of many VPN solutions in my daily work. It has worked that way fairly well, they offer a static IP for extra charge, ProtonVPN unfortunately does not. I need a static IP.

About 2 days ago they did a system update, now software to be installed and a lot of other updates.

Yesterday I had to access a server that is locked with their static IP, the result was, I had to log in to my account where I was then told that my subscription had expired (I have paid for 1 year before) - I thought ok , I'm just extending my subscription so I can access.

Now comes the absolutely amazing thing about their service, they will simply assign a new IP, I can not get the old one back it seems. I suppose you can understand that you get sweat on your forehead when something happens.

Now I write to their customer support, they do not read what I write at all but say I can just REEDEM my new IP and then everything is fine. Now I turn to you again, saying that it's damn important that I get my old IP back. Now they answer that they must have a screenshot that my subscription has expired and then I can otherwise just REEDEM a new IP. Again, either they do not read what you write at all or they show arrogance without equal. In fact, I'm now hanging on to a $ 800 bill tomorrow for a company to unlock my server again.

Definitely a recommendation from here, do not trust CuberGhost, it is a mess and they have no control over anything at all.

I have not even received a notification that I should switch to a new IP.

Thank you CyberGhost GFY

Needles to say they went on radio silence now!

@Admin, I had intentions to use them sometime back, i had a change of thought and said i do some DD on them, i got access to video reviews on the Top VPN services and from my deductions based on the review some aspects seemed abit underpar, i had to stay away..

Your recent experience with them just puts in the final Nail...

What do you expect from a company resident in Romania!

They can not even spell customer support nor care!

Founded in 2011 in Bucharest, Romania, CyberGhost is the creator of one of the world's most reliable privacy and security solutions in the world. The company secures and anonymizes the online presence of over 36 million users across the globe. CyberGhost defends privacy as a basic human right, being the first in the industry to publish a transparency report while building new user-oriented crypto-technology for the future.

Honestly, I don't expect a customer support that don't care about their long term customers and hide in a country where they can give a s**t about customer complains.

If I look some of the e-mail conversaiton again, it is clear they standard e-mails they send and keep crossing their fingers that the stupid customer in the other end just shut up.

Here is one of their response:

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us.

To help you with your request, please be so kind as to provide me with the following information:

1. A screenshot of the message that tells you that the subscription is expired.
2. The invoice files of your paid subscriptions

Please confirm if you had attempted to redeem the token for your dedicated IP, using the steps from this article:
https://support.cyberghostvpn.com/h...79-How-to-redeem-your-Dedicated-IP-on-Windows
If any issues occur, while trying to redeem this, let me have screenshots as well.

Looking forward to your reply!
Best regards,
Razvan Ungureanu

CyberGhost S.A Bucharest, Romania

Now I ask my self, how can this help get my IP back!!

See the VIDEO below:

Following the instructions you will get a new IP, they know that, why do they tell you to follow that instructions.

Only conclusion, they do not understand English, so they have been given some buttons they can trust, which send an answer that might fit what CyberGhost's support thinks has been asked, if it does not fit, so what!

Why use Cyberghost? Its a joke of a service. I use Mullvad and trust me the entire DNM world swears by it. Based out of Sweden, they have strict no log policy. They have been refused services by very big Hosters (leaseweb, OVH etc.) because of their no log policy. No email required for signup, BTC and BCH accepted. For an unbiased review you can do a google search "Mullvad reddit" and read the results or you can check these:

reddit.com/r/vpnreviews/comments/9k90vf/mullvad_vpn_is_exceptional/

thatoneprivacysite.net/blog/mullvad-review/

nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-vpn-service/

Best thing is that Mullvad has no Affiliate setup, so no affiliate commission and no paid reviews. Avoid VPNs that have affiliate commissions.

The ip address that they provide is static. But it may change from time to time, by that I mean for chicago if they have an ip address 1.1.1.1 as on today, it may be 2.2.2.2 a month later. You can also use the Mullvad configuration file on openvpn client and choose a particular ip address continuously. If you PM me I can help you set up a trial for 24 - 48 hrs, you can test it out.

N.B. The test offer is only for @Admin. I am in no way affiliated with Mullvad. They normally don't have trial offers, since I am an old client of them, I can arrange one.

Most VPN providers do not offer static ip addresses since it is easier to blacklist those as VPN.

At all stay as far away as you can from Cyberghost in terms of privacy, its a well known fact that they keep logs

To just follow this to the door, I can announce that CyberGhostVPN has chosen not to solve the problem, they can not understand what is wrong and refer to the problem 100% on my side.

End of story, I do not bother anymore, let it be a warning to everyone, their customer support simply does not power their customers and would rather than get rid of them rather than remedy the problem.

Sorry to hear that, will stay far away from this company. As @Martin Everson pointed out in another thread they may be located in Romania but they report everything to the governments. They are what is called a Honey Pot!

What did they say to you as the last before you closed the conversation?
