What countries are there where company ownership and director details are not publicly available for searching online by any people in a google search or looking on the registry website?

After examining several options, I have discovered that most of them are publicly accessible. It is looking to be impossible to get privacy in Europe. What alternatives available elsewhere globally?

US LLCs registered in New Mexico don't disclose company ownership details.

I've read that US is setting up a UBO registry but i'm not sure it will be publicly available.

Are US LLC's the only one in the world?

A list of countries would be preferable! But if you don't know it I have to search 🙂

If the intention is to simply guard yourself from the public then a nominee shareholder still works wonders. If you are hiding from tax or other authorities then other considerations should be had.

In my case it would be nice if this didn't jump up in the eyes to every business partner searching my name on Google!

To be more complete, you should also assess the jurisdiction of incorporation as there may be other provisions, like a public BO registry, before confirming that a mere nominee shareholder would protect you.

The answer is usually in lack of shares. Choose a similar form of doing business where owners/beneficiaries are considered members and you have more choices.

@Don What countries have this form of doing business?

@CyprusLawyer101 How does public BO registry work? Nominee shareholders report the BO who is put on the public registry?

Usually the obligation arises to service providers or to the company itself. It really depends on the local rules of the concerned jurisdiction. It is a new concept, however you could safely assume that jurisdictions in the EU do not give access of the BO registry to the public as confirmed by recent case law of the Europoean court of justice.

Also, can we use another company as BO?

BO refers to the beneficialnowner, which is essentially inquiring for a physical person , other than in a few instances like a discretionary trust or a fund, however i guess this is not what you are referring to. If you are considering disclosing a company in lieu of the BO, this shouldn't ge possible.

What countries have this new public BO registry?

According to other posts on this forum, it appears that almost all EU countries have public ownership. Is there any benefit if the BO registry is not available to public when they can already see owners?

EU countries have the BO registry and its nit available to the public. Are you looking to hide from authorities or third parties?
